Azriel's pov

I was just walking back to my apartment after a long dinner at the town house.

I had done nothing different.

I kept to the shadows and kept my head down.

But this time I heard shouting and a cry, a glass breaking and doors slamming.

Coming up to my door, I can see the girl that my shadows just told me about.

I can see now that she is young and has a cut to the forehead.

Her sent wafts up to me and my heart almost stops.

This girl is my mate.

Mate.

I'm not worthy of a mate.

I have never done anything to deserve this gift.

And...

She has seen me.

Stumbling forward she says "Can you help me??? Please???"

She sounded drunk or like she'd been hit on the head.

And I think that it was the latter.

She almost fell, but I cought her before she could hit the ground.

And carried her into my house.

My mate in my house.

I put her down on my couch, and went to make her to make some tea.

When I came back with two cups she was sitting up and watching me closely.

"Who are you?" I asked, trying to not look like someone that would kill her.

"Why don't you start first" she said nodding my way.

"I don't think that I can think right now", she held her head waiting for me to talk.

"I'm Azriel, spymaster of the Night Court, i'm part of High Lord Rhysand's inner circle."

Her eyes widened just a little, and I knew that she was scared, I could smell it on her.

She sipped her tea and continued to stare at me.

"Are you going to say anything?"

Her mouth twitched a little.

"You are my mate?"

Okay, right into it then.

I had never been so unprepared in my entire life time, than in this moment.

I nodded, "Yes that is correct, but I still do not know your name?"

"It's Luna Fisher".

Good Gods she was trying to kill me, my shadows were going crazy at the name.

The name of the girl that I had fallen for before I had met Mor, though that didn't make a difference, because Luna had been killed by some of the other males that me and my brothers had been training with.

And the reason that the killed her, because she meant something to me.

She had been my first time.

And my first love.

I thought that I would spend the rest of my life with her.

My shadows whisper, 'maybe this is your second chance with the moon.'

Thank you so much for reading. I know that this chapter was supposed to be Amren's pov but I just cannot seem to write for her. So hopefully the next one will be from her. Or I may skip her(but I really don't want to have to do that).
