Azriel's pov

I was talking to Rhys in his office when Cassian came barging in.

"I can't handle it you need to take her to the camp!"

He shouted at Rhys and I, though it didn't seem directed at either.

"What happened Cassian?"

The way Rhys asked told me that he had heard enough about Nesta from Feyre.

"She drives me mad! And she kissed me."

Cassian almost said the last part like she had cursed him to the demon relm.

"Nesta kissed you?"

Rhys sounded amused by the fact and now sounded more interested.

"Isn't that great? I thought you wanted to fu-"

"Don't you dare finish that Rhys or I'll rip you up right now."

I don't think I've ever heard Cassian sound so serious about anything.

"Fine she kissed you, which is what I thought you wanted. But now your mad and want someone else to do the job we thought you were capible of doing yourself?"

Cassian nodded along then stopped at, 'you were capable of'.

"I am completely capable of handling her, that's not the problem. I can't handle my self around her!"

Rhyd made a flapping gesture with his hands, "Well I suppose your going to have to learn to handle yourself if you want to kiss her any time soon!"

Cassian made an annoyed sound and stormed out.

"Maybe we should have helped with her?"

"Azriel you know full well that's not what he wanted, he just needed to rant and tell us that he got kissed."

I nodded, knowing that to be true.

"I think your hiding something, or in her words 'someone' from us, and have been for a while."

I could feel my shadows swerl around my legs, trying to fend of the question that had been brewing for quite some time.

"I have met someone but its a rather odd story, if you have the time?"

Rhys smiled and got out a bottle of whisky from his besk draw, "All the time in the world brother."

So I told him how my mate had turned up before solstice and had been staying in my flat since, how her name was Luna.

And how she seemed scared of me in the way that suggested another male had done things to her against her will.

How she read in my arm chair, and make herself tea.

And how the last time he had gone to check on her she didn't seem as frightened of him as she did the time before.

Like she was starting to trust him.

Rhys seemed stunned that I had told him, "That's a long time to have kept it from us?"

He said it like a question.

"I thought I could get to know her more before I brought her to a family dinner."

My brother smiled and said, "Well how about I give you some time off and you can get to know her, I bet you've haven't had two days off since the war let alone four?"

"Thank you that would really mean a lot to me, and I could catch up on some paper work."

Rhys laughed, "If that's what would make my brother and his mate bond then I can make it happen starting tomorrow don't leave her side for four days more if things go well."

I gave him a look that told him it might take a while before I feel the need to pummel his face in for making such suggestions.

He stood up and hugged me.

" I couldn't be happier knowing that my brother is on his way to being as happy as I am! "

I smiled, and I knew Rhys understood my sign of gratitude.
