Twelve

You woke up and checked the time, grinning when you saw you had slept through a good chunk of the school day. Now that you thought about it, how come your alarm didn't go off? You checked your app on your phone to see alarms had been disabled, though you had no idea when. You let out a sigh, assuming you did so in the middle of the night without thinking, and shuffled around in your bed, drifting in and out of consciousness.

You eventually felt awake enough to get out of bed. You usually felt tired and drowsy in the mornings, but for once, you felt refreshed. The sun let beams of white light drift through your curtains, hints of dust dancing in the spotlight. The room was messy but cosy, and the air was warm. The shift in temperature that prickled your skin as you emerged from your tosty covers was comforting; it wasn't too much of a blunt change, but still able to wake you up. The room was lit up with natural light. You felt refreshed as you stepped out of your bed, untangling yourself from your bedcovers. You stretched out your body with a content sigh and went to get some clothes. You felt like doing something fun today.

You got yourself ready, taking a shower, brushing your teeth, and changing. You had a slow, unrushed breakfast, waiting for your hair to dry.

Eventually, it was 11 AM, and you were ready. You had no idea where you were going, but you decided to just walk. You exited your home, locking the door behind you. You briefly remembered that you left your phone at home, but decided you didn't need it, and started to walk. It had rained during night prior, leaving diamonds of water to litter the surface of cars and power boxes, turning into streams with a single touch. The air was cool, but the sun shone onto your skin.

What a nice day.

You continued to walk along and take in your surroundings with a smile. It wasn't busy, most roads were deserted. You walked aimlessly, until...

"Hey." Someone spoke. You turned back, and saw a boy with white grey and black hair. He had green eyes and plenty of gold accessories. He smirked. You raised an eyebrow at him.

"...Yeah?" You asked. He seemed familiar... Oh, didn't he go to your class? He looked smug as ever, flipping his hair, and you sweatdropped.

"I am Saiko Metori, though you should already know that." He smirked. One overconfident guy after another... You scanned his outfit, seeing he was in his uniform.

"...Nice. Are you lost or something? The school's over there." You said, pointing to the general direction of the school. His eye twitched.

"Well, why aren't you in school? Where's your uniform?" He asked, slightly offended you brushed him off like that. You shrugged.

"I just wanted a day off." You said as you began to walk away. He quickly caught up, though crossing his arms and looking away right after.

"Huh, me too." He lied. You read his mind, and turns out he was actually lost. He looked down at you, "Though I can actually get away with it, because I'm rich. You'll be in trouble."

"...Nah. I'll just say I was sick, plus my grades are good enough anyway. They won't mind." You shrugged. He 'tch'ed as you walked. "So where were you trying to go?"

"Uhm, I just wanted to... Wander around, of course. To explore the peasant city." He scoffed. You glanced at him with an unimpressed look. Peasant...?

"...Uh huh." You sighed. Was this guy gonna stay with you, or something? You continued to walk, spotting a mountain nearby. You started to walk on the path toward it. It wasn't extremely big, but nice.

"W-Wait, we're going up a mountain?!" He gulped, eyebrows furrowed. You shrugged.

"Yeah, why not. Hiking's fun. We won't go too high, though, because we're not geared... Oh, you can just stay, if your rich-royalness is too scared." You laughed. His eye twitched and he grit his teeth.
