Victoria

Inside the familiar brick building, over a dozen members of our gang stand about on the large first floor. Some of them seem to be in deep conversation, as others are reverting guns to the duffle bags we brought to our hotel room earlier.

Under the usual dim lights and across the wide cemented floor and from afar, I spot machinery; in which how exactly they process their counterfeit money. The same machines that I've seen when I was first welcomed inside align the wall about 25 feet from where I stand.

My hand trails the wall next to me as I follow into the gangster's steps; the brick underneath my fingertips rough and rather strangely comfortably cold. My eyes land on a familiar set of dark irises, clouded with such deep shade, I'd consider them black. Chris.

Rio, ahead of me, walks up to his best boy's broad frame. I stop behind the gangster, whilst observing the gang bangers around the room. "I brought the guns with us, along with the cash." I overhear Chris's deep voice begin, and I push back loose strands of my brown hair as if it'll support my eavesdropping. I listen.

"Liki checked you two out of the hotel room, he took care of us too." he continues lowly, and within whisper. "I'm unsure if they suspected a thing, Rio. But that's why we're here."

I glance over at the gang leader who stands in silence, a moment, as if in ponder. Then the gangster sends a nod, presumably in agreement. Rio briefly peers over his shoulder at me, just barely clinging onto my gaze, before he continues in his deliberate steps ahead. I curl my lip, and follow him.

But only managing a few steps, Chris steps in front of me; bringing to a sudden halt. I meet his shaded irises. Chris reaches out a hand in greet. It only takes my unhesitant eyes a sliver of a second, staring down at his gesture, before I accept. I shake the gang banger's hand in mine, offering him a nod when we share a look.

Then I move past him, to near the center of the room - where I find Rio standing next to Liki. Shortly after, Chris's heavy steps sound after me when I took lead.

"Alright, gather around." Chris starts, bold and bluntly. I stop next to Rio's side, hovering his taller frame as my hand instinctively intertwines with his own. Within seconds I feel his comforting hand grasp onto my own in turn - my brown eyes shut briefly, in satisfaction, when a soft breath escapes my lips.

"As all of you should know, some of our men and women gathered the guns that were left in the hotel room, same for the cash. Now the bodies, not to much. Yes, I'm sure the locals around might've heard the gun fire, but miraculously, we can hope that the police didn't reach East Wayward, yet." Chris announces, peering out around everyone, containing their centered attention.

"What about the targets?" Rio asks Chris aloud, his hand still tight in mine. "They still there?" He adds huskily, curious.

I watch Chris glimpse at the Asian next to him, for any form of answer, I presume; his masculine frame shadowing Liki's Korean height. Liki and him share an unreadable glance, before Liki starts in announcement.

"I was the last one out, and before I left the hotel I did not catch a glimpse of them." He informs. "I wish I could have received the chance to sneak into the surveillance, maybe dig up some security footage of the gang's whereabouts..." Liki averts his dismayed gaze downward to the ground. "But it seems that is a little too difficult to achieve, at the moment."

Low murmurs and discussion begin to surround the dimly lit perimeter, that is, before the exasperated alert of a cleared throat sounds - and all eyes jolt toward Chris.

"Well, you heard the man. But what he's informed us doesn't mean they're one step ahead of us. If they're gone, they're gone. As long as none of our people are targeted again, then all is good." Chris Attwood states sternly, folding his large arms across his chest.

I follow Attwood's gaze, when it settles on Rio.

The gangster briefly sweeps his tongue across the set of tasty lips I captured earlier. "Chris is right. After tonight and after we clean our mess up, we settle down. Only make some noise when the FBI is on our backs." Rio orders, tone husky and hinting authority - the room falls silent.

Upon the cemented floor, some members are inclining their heads in understanding and agreement, as others withstand holding serious glances, toward the gangster.

"We go out in pairs, just as we did to get there in the first place, and we clear any possible evidence that'll trace back to us. Anything that we left behind, we get it back." Attwood directs. "Got any questions before we head out?"

Around the room many members have already began in their steps, some nearing their partners, as Rio and I join the others in dismissal, too. But shortly after Chris's last ponder, a hand is highly raised in the air, I notice.

"Will we be stopping for lunch?" I hear Liki question Chris, his voice the usual high pitched tone. I turn to glance over my shoulder at the enthusiastic Asian, who has his brows escalated in excitement.

"No." beside me, Rio bluntly answers instead - when I peer my gaze to Liki once more. His seemingly smooth face softens, before he showcases a disappointed frown.

Instantly, I nudge the gangster's arm sending him a glare. Rio faces me, his full lips twitching, as it seems he's suppressing a smile.

"What? We don't got time to stop, darlin'." Rio states cocking a thick brow - before I feel his warm thumb graze my hand, resulting in my skin to tingle. "At least not for food, anyway." He drags lowly, his chocolate brown irises glinting mischievously while he searches my eyes perceptively.

My teeth tug at my lip when I decide to face ahead, avoiding his lulling gaze. I blow out a smooth breath, in preparation rather, when we both head out the metal door - my hand still reassuringly in the gangster's.
