Victoria
I toss the car keys onto the countertop's granite surface, when I enter the kitchen. The house is quiet, with only the consistent spinning of the ceiling fan sounding inside the home.
I lean over the kitchen island, with the support of either elbow - combing my hands through my brown hair. A yawn is taken in.
Today's been a long day. And it's late, too late. It feels like the cool adrenaline I once had is no longer pumping, finally, and all I crave is rest. However, standing in the peaceful silence, I can't help but to think of earlier. In that lot was full out war, man vs. man. It was dangerous, but at the same time...a rush. What I gathered outside of that hotel was nothing but an intensifying feeling, but the events were toxic. I shot someone...
For the first time ever, I ended a life...
I can't push aside the darkness that crept in every vein that very moment I pulled the trigger myself. And the sound of the breathless enemies splatting onto the hard cemented ground made me want to gag. But every sliver of the actions that occurred tonight, was self defense. For our gang, for me.
Besides, what else was there to do? Back out? I couldn't - neither did I contain one fearful vein or an ounce of hesitation to not ditch our people. Along with tonight, I had been realized that I could never, ever do that to them. Same goes for....
The sound of my front door gently shutting yanks me from my inner thoughts, and I turn to face the foyer. In the entrance stands Rio, his hands in his pockets as he's watching me already.
I swallow softly, latching onto the twinkle in his chocolate brown irises from across the room. He begins in his deliberate steps toward me. I stand still, in wait.
I send a quick and perceptive once over, over the tall gangster's frame. Vesturing his pitch black t-shirt still, he walks under the kitchen archway, nearing me. And when his tall figure hovers me, gazing down at my longing eyes, my own eyes can't tear from his.
The glimmer of gallantry flickering across his burning gaze sends me into a whole desiring trance.
"Have you talked to Liki? The other gang, they're gone, you know..." I start softly, peering up at the set of deep eyes that are searching my own. Rio seems to be in a daze, lost in my gaze.
"Mhm..." He sounds in turn. Then he lifts a hand, to carefully push back a strand of my brown hair; gently tucking it safely behind my ear. My pink lips part from the electrifying sensation of his warm touch.
My eyes flick down to his full lips, that claim place just inches from my own. Deliberately, his tongue sweeps across his own, before his luscious lips twitch.
"I wanted to take you out tonight, after all this was over..." He drags lowly, his voice husky and soothing. "But I know you're tired."
The gangster's thumb brushes across my cheek - that blushes profusely - his skin slowly grazing against mine affectionately. "Let's get some rest, darlin'." He adds huskily, his burning gaze seemingly lost in my own. I nod, tilting my head into his palm to adore his gentle touch on my cheek.
But shortly, his hand drops to my own, before I feel his fingers intertwine with mine. I take my hand in his, as he smoothly moves past me near the stairs. Leading the way, our tired figures make our way upstairs.
Once in the dark corridor, Rio twists the doorknob of our bedroom door before pushing it open easily. He heads near the queen sized bed, when my hand slips from his - instantly and already missing his touch.
I walk over to the other side of the wide mattress, and recline my body across my side of the soft surface. Rio gets into bed soon after, pulling the thick blanket over my slightly shivering frame and over himself.
OK how low did I leave the temperature earlier?!
Rio's tattooed arm rests across my pillow, and I snuggle my head in the crook of his neck. Our bodies are close - his comfortable figure soon warming me. He shifts on the silky sheets to wrap his strong arm around my side, his unfailing fresh scent engulfing me.
I tilt my head up, a moment, just to meet his lulling eyes again.
His luscious lips are twitching, as he latches onto my brown eyes intently.
"Me and you are going some place tomorrow. First thing in the morning, I'm taking you out." He whispers against me, his comforting touch deliberately rubbing my back in puny circular motions.
My lips curve into a grateful smile, and I rest my head upon his relaxed chest again. "Okay..." I say softly, snuggling against him once more.
But just before I can forget to peck him on the lips, I peer my gaze up at Rio again. Passionately, my lips brush against his, in an almost hesitant manner. But it's anything hesitant. His soft lips part when they press against mine slowly, kissing me hard shortly after.
I kiss him back, when his arm pulls me closer to him. And when I place my hand on his hard chest, our lips separate from one another's. His glimmering irises settle on my lips, when I look into his chocolate brown eyes.
"Goodnight, Victoria." He whispers huskily, averting his gaze onto my own. I curl my lips, before beaming a genuine smile.
"Goodnight, Rio." I say quietly, before resting my head on his chest once more, fluttering my tired eyes shut.
