Troubled eyes watched as water swirled around aching feet, it was set at the perfect temperature to ease tense muscles and just outside the slightly ajar bathroom door Sam Smith 'Too Good At Goodbyes' played and she laughed at the irony.
"Y/N? Please tell me you changed your mind about tonight?"
Rose popped her head around the door, dramatically waving her hand around as she battled the steam filled interior.
Y/N loved her friend but after politely declining her invitation to go out not once but three times she wondered if maybe it was time for the less polite route. It wasn't that she didn't appreciate it, she knew the reason Rose was trying so desperately to get her out of the house but she simply wasn't in the mood.
"Rose, for the fourth time no. I know why you want me to go out and I'm not interested in a double date, had enough of men at the moment."
Rose grabbed a fresh towel and wiped excess water from the bath edge so she could sit down.
"Sean is a really sweet guy, you two would really get along and you seriously need to stop moping around. It's been three days since the Jungkook incident and even longer since the Vincent drama and you can't spend all your time sitting inside watching movies and feeling sorry for yourself."
"I'm not moping around." Y/N grumbled as she switched off the water, her peaceful shower officially ruined.
"Y/N you've gone through two tubs of icecream in three days, you're officially moping and there's no point in trying to deny it."
"It doesn't matter what you say, I'm not going out tonight."
Rose sighed, throwing the towel at her friend as she stepped out of the shower.
"So you're just going to stay here again and do nothing?"
"Pretty much." There was also a third tub of icecream with her name on it.
Rose sighed, completely out of ideas for how to convince her friend to leave the house and so she admitted defeat and watched with concerned eyes as Y/N wrapped the towel around herself.
"You know they're both idiots right? You're beautiful and any guy would be a complete idiot to not see that." Rose knew why her friend was moping and it had everything to do with two gorgeous men who had recently knocked her confidence with their abrupt departures.
Y/N ran a hand across the mirror, one quick swipe through the condensation so she could see the distorted reflection of herself.
"It's fine, I'm okay." It sounded convincing but beneath the facade she was anything but, it was laughable really as she didn't even know the guys that well but rejection was never easy to deal with no matter what the reasons behind it.
"I know you, you're trying to act okay but deep down those idiots hurt you. I'm here when you want to talk, if you change your mind about tonight just call me."
Rose gave Y/N's shoulder a gentle squeeze, sending her a sympathetic smile before leaving the bathroom.
"Have fun tonight, get home safe." Y/N called after her retreating form, she recieved an exasperated 'uh huh' in response.
It was only when Rose left the house ten minutes later that Y/N breathed out a sigh of relief, she loved her friend but sometimes she could be overbearing.
Netflix and icecream was the only thing on her agenda for tonight.
Once dry from the shower she pulled on a pair of shorts and vest top, something comfortable for her to lounge around in before heading to the kitchen.
