The moment Taehyung stared up at him with wide fearful eyes Jin knew exactly what memories he was talking about and his stomach dropped.
This wasn't supposed to happen.
Not now and not like this.
It was too early.
There was still too much to be done.
The bunker shutdown protocol saved him from having to scramble for answers, at least for now Tae's memories would remain unspoken between them.
It was imperative they remained so.
He needed to figure out a way to get Tae to the lab, to get the serum back in his system.
"They found us? How?!" Tae pushed himself up, taking a wary step back from Jin as the elder attempted to assist him.
That wasn't good.
Did he remember everything?
Surely not.
If Tae remembered everything then he would also remember just how deeply Jin was involved and would be a damn sight more wary around him.
He seems to be apprehensive, maybe the memories are coming to him in bits and pieces, hazy and disjointed. If that's the case then Jin needs to take advantage of this, get him to the lab before those memories threaten the entire operation.
"I doubt they found us, we made sure this place was kept well hidden." Jin responded, keeping himself as calm as possible.
Surely the organisation hadn't managed to discover the bunker this quickly, they took the necessary steps to make sure it was a safe location for them.
It could be an issue with the shutdown protocol? Maybe the power had shorted and tripped a circuit?
Still....Jin didn't have the time to worry about that yet.
He needed to get Tae to the lab, he needed to administer the serum before it was too late.
If Taehyung spoke with the others and triggered their memories then the entire mission would be a complete failure, it would completely break their family apart.
"We need to find Namjoon, hopefully he'll have more information for us." Jin suggested as he turned to make his way down the corridor.
"I'm not going anywhere without Y/N, we can't leave her behind." Taehyung refused to follow, eyes narrowed and wary still as he watched Jin turn back around to face him.
His memories surrounding Jin were still hazy.
He remembered how he was taken against his will by the organisation, how they experimented on him and altered his memories but the rest of what happened to him at the training facility isn't clear in his head yet.
Something tells him his memories of Jin are off....twisted and manipulated somehow but he can't figure out why.
Is Jin someone he should be wary of?
Or was Jin like him?
Was he taken against his will too?
Until he knew for sure he wouldn't allow himself to fully trust the elder.
It broke his heart to feel this way as Jin was his family, one of his closest friends but what else was he supposed to do?
All he knew for sure is that he needed to make sure Y/N was safe, he refused to leave her alone regardless of what was happening in the bunker right now.
He would go to Y/N first and then he would find Namjoon and the others.
"Okay" Jin gave a nod. "You make sure she's protected and I'll find Joon, keep your guard up."
Taehyung rolls his eyes but gives a nod regardless, it's not like he doesn't know what to do in situations such as this, all of them have been trained for it.
Jin watches as the younger agent heads back down the hallway, heart tightening in his chest as he removes a small electronic device from his shirt pocket.
He doesn't want to do this.
It breaks his heart but he's got no choice.
He isn't sure what Tae remembers but whatever it is....it's too much.
He closes his eyes, takes a deep breath and then hits the button under 3012.
Taehyung doesn't feel any pain, there's not even a warning beforehand.
One moment he's attempting to sift through all these new memories, trying to figure out the role all seven of them played and who could be trusted as he made his way back to Y/N and then the next he feels a heaviness settle over him before darkness claims him.
Jin approaches the downed agent, despondent and angry that he had to resort to using such underhanded tactics.
"I'm sorry Tae, I just can't have you figuring things out...not yet."
((Another chapter done! I knowthis one is short BUT there's a reason for that, the next fewchapters are going to be focusing on certain characters after the emergency protocol has been initiated. This one was focusing on Jin and Tae, the nextwill be entirely up to you guys as you need to vote!
