Chapter 24- Getting Married
“Aah! Seth!” Water engulfed me in a matter of seconds and its all because of the man standing on the edge of pool laughing his ass off.
“Sorry Ysabel.” He said when he calmed down a little. I got out of the pool and pushed him in, due to me being so small and him being so muscular, I slipped and ended up in the pool once again. This is simply embarrassing.
“Come on mahal. I was having fun.” He helped me out of the hotel pool and we got back in our hotel room to change and go to the San Agustin church. I always wanted to go there.
Maybe you’re wondering, why here? Of all the places in the world, why did I choose an island separated from the mainland? Well, my father always told me stories about the beauty of this island and how he met my mother when she was also a tourist visiting the famous, Boracay.
“This is beautiful.” Standing before us is a tall stone church. It looked old and magnificent at the same time. As we enter the church, everything looked antique and part Latin and the large cross stood there in all its glory.
“Ysabel.” I heard Seth say.
“Hmm?” I replied as I looked glanced around, taking the beauty of the church in.
“Ysabel.” I glanced beside me but Seth wasn’t there. I turned around and found him holding a bouquet of flowers and a small velvet box.
“What’s that?” I asked as I took the flowers from his hands.
“Ysabel, I know it may sound odd that I’m asking after we did everything else but I want to. I want to ask you properly. Ysabel, will you be my girlfriend?” He finished. Did he just-? He just-. Oh my God!
“I thought you were going to propose.” I blurted out. I laughed nervously, now I sound like a lunatic. Why would he propose? You’re not officially dating!
He chuckled. “I think you’re not ready for that kind of commitment so I’ll settle for this one.”
I smiled at him, he’s right, I’m not ready for that kind of commitment. “Of course Seth, I’ll be your girlfriend.” I beamed at him.
He opened the small velvet box and revealed a simple princess cut diamond with a silver band. It was simply beautiful. I didn’t notice the small crowd of people watching us, in their eyes, it looked like he was proposing marriage. They awed and clapped as Seth placed the ring on the ring finger. “Sir, we have to go. Reporters are coming.” Jason whispered to Seth but I heard him perfectly. Jackson was behind me in an instant and they led us out the main entrance. Big flashes greeted us as we exit the massive church, why won’t they leave us alone?
“Mr. Morgan, did you propose to Ms. Crest?”
“When’s the wedding?”
“What about Katrina?”
“Ms. Crest, is it true that you broke up with Mr. Conolly for Mr. Morgan?” I wanted to stop and defend myself but Jackson pulled me away. Why would they think I broke up with Greg just to get with Seth, that is just wrong.
“Ms. Crest, are you a gold digger?” What kind of question is that? Oh you have got to be kidding me. I shoved Jackson and faced the reporter.
“No! I am no goddamn gold digger!” I hissed at her.
“Then what do you call stealing Mr. Morgan time away from finding a wife?” The reporter asked smugly. I wanted to wipe that smug from her face, wait no! I wanted to wipe her face off the earth!
