Chapter 28- Haunting Past
"No Seth, no! How could you do this to me?!" I yelled at him.
"Ysabel, you have to understand that I love Ashley." He held out his hands as if that could keep me calm.
A bunch of people were starting to watch us and I suddenly felt self conscious. A camera crew suddenly appeared to film our scandal.
"You don't love her! You told me you don't!" Tears were starting to pool in my eyes.
"Ysabel, please, don't make this any harder than it already is." He held my hand but I pulled it away.
"How is this hard? How could you throw away what we had!" Tears were falling down my eyes.
"Can we go somewhere a bit more private?" People flocked to us, holding onto every word we say. More likely this will be a hot topic tonight.
"No! I came to you earlier for closure and that's what I expect to get." I seethed.
"Jackson!" He barked and a hand held onto my shoulder. Pretty soon, we were out into the streets. People with cameras and recorders blocked out way but Jason and Jackson tried to make a path for us. A bunch of questions were thrown at us but Jackson told me to look at the floor.
"Come on miss. Do not look at anyone and block everyone out. We're going to get you out of here." I couldn't speak so I nodded my head. We were led to the black escalade and then everything was muffled.
"Ysabel." Seth whispered beside me.
"Yes?" I looked at his worried face.
"You will most likely get fired tomorrow. I'm so sorry." He grabbed my hand and I let him, that single gesture was enough to make me feel important to him. Important. Not loved.
"I know, it's fine. I can always find a new job." I gave him a small smile. "I'll be lucky if I find a job at a burger joint." I tried to lighten the mood but it was no use.
"That's not funny." He said grimly and I nodded my head. He's right, this was no time to joke around.
"What do you want me to do? After Ashley, who's next? Will I ever get the peace I want?" After my little rant, Seth looked at me wide eyed. So many issues, so many questions, so many unanswered questions. I don't know how to even start. Where do we even begin solving our never ending issues?
"I don't know you feel that way. I understand how you feel and I would never force you into being with me knowing that you feel trapped." He looked out the window to hide the hurt in his face.
Trapped? Who ever said anything about being trapped? "Seth, I don't feel trapped with you. I just don't want to look over my shoulder every second thinking that someone might murder me knowing that I'm with you." I placed my hand on top of his and gave it a small squeeze.
