Chapter 27- Break-ups
Jackson stood in front of me protectively and I had to admit, the guy knows how to protect his subjects. “Jackson, its fine. Can I go talk to him?” I touched his shoulder and he finally walked away.
“Ysabel!” Greg ran up to me and hugged me tight and I did the same. “I missed you.” He murmured in my ear and I can feel tears prick my eyes.
“I missed you too.” I nuzzled his chest and inhaled his familiar scent. God! I missed him!
“So I hear you’re getting married.” He whispered and my body went stiff. How did he know? He was in Europe, don’t tell me the news got to Europe.
“How did you know?” I looked up at him.
“I saw it on the internet. The media are all over it. I do have a question.” He released me and looked at me sternly.
“What is it?” I furrowed my eyebrows, is this the part where he tells me he wants me back?
“Are you really engaged?” Now why would he ask me that?
“Why?” I asked curiously, why would he ask me that? Does it look like I’m not engaged?
“The fact that your boyfriend is stinking rich and you don’t have a ring on your finger tells me otherwise. Now tell me, did he propose?” He crossed his arms across his chest and I can’t help but go red. He got that bit did he? What do I say?
“I-he-I- yeah.” I couldn’t formulate proper sentences anymore because we all know the answer to his question. He didn’t propose, he didn’t give me a ring.
“Ysabel, you can tell me. Did you get forced into this engagement?” He eyes softened and I couldn’t lie, Greg knows me so well he knows that I don’t lie very well.
“I-I-I-” Safe to say I was at a loss for words.
“I love you Ysabel.” He blurted out and my eyes widened. What do I say? Do I say it back? Dammit! What does one do in this kind of situation?
“Greg, I’m sorry.” I looked down, tears fell down my face, not because I love Greg but because I want those words to come from Seth, now Greg.
“Hey, don’t cry.” He enveloped me in his arms and that made me cry a whole lot more.
“Let her go right now!” A new voice entered and I suddenly let Greg go and faced the man I’m about to marry.
“Seth-” I tried to calm him down but his eyes were set on Greg and he was walking in our direction with his fists clenched.
Seth fist collided with Greg’s cheek and I had to shout. “Seth, stop!” I crouched beside Greg and tried to look where Seth punched him.
“Ysabel, I’m fine.” Greg spat out and stood up. “I’m here to get her back, you aren’t married yet, I still have time to win her back.” And with that, Greg walked away.
I half expected him to punch Seth but I thought wrong, maybe he matured while was in Europe. The Greg I know would’ve punched Seth back. “Greg!” I ran after him, why the hell am I running after him?
“Ysabel, I will see you soon.” He cupped my face.
“I am so sorry.” I touched the spot where he was punched and he winced. “Go before Seth punches you again.” He kissed the top of my head before he exited Seth’s property.
“Do you love him?” Seth asked as soon as I reached him.
“What? No!” Why the heck would he even ask that? Isn’t it obvious who I love? I love you! I wanted to shout at him stopped myself.
