Chapter 11- Feeling Giddy

My parents wanted to do the whole tourist thing while they're here so my sister, Sarah, was stuck babysitting them while I went for work. I'm still laughing at her expression when I called her to take our parents on a tourist bus ride as I hailed a cab to take me to work.

As soon as I got to my ward, I was greeted by three bouquets of flowers. Who needs these many flowers? One of the bouquets were all roses, red roses to be exact and there were three white ones in the middle. The second bouquet are daisies, all yellowy and there were three pink ones in the middle, are there even pink daisies? Moving on, the last one are pure lilacs and its simple yet elegant. All three of those bouquets are covered in what looks like abaca? And then the typical plastic wrap.

I greeted Rina and asked who the flowers are for, wow, the woman doesn't even know. I looked around and sure enough the two of us were the only nurses in this ward this afternoon, I took a tentative step towards the bundles of flowers, get a grip! They're just bouquets.

I looked at the card attached to one of them, yes them, I'm referring to a thing in a person sense, yes I am weird. 'Ms. Crest, I didn't know what flowers you like so I bought you different kinds -M'. My eyes scanned the card again and again but it still says the same thing, like I wished for something to just magically appear.

I sighed, who the heck is 'M'? Seth? Nope, he starts with an 'S', duh! I mentally face palmed myself and hid the flowers before our head saw them and get an earful. "You must be special if that guy bought you three different kinds of flowers" Rina said as I closed the closet below our table.

"Or he just doesn't know me that well" I pointed a finger at her and shrugged.

"Do not underestimate the powers of a bouquet of flowers" She grinned at me, her blue eyes glinting in amusement.

"Whatever Rina, it probably doesn't mean anything" I turned to face my paperwork and started signing stuff.

"What you do mean it doesn't mean anything? The guy bought you, not one, not two, but three bouquets of flowers" She proceeded to placing oral medicines in cups.

"Don't make a big deal out of this Rina, besides, they're just flowers, probably a thank you or something" I finished signing off papers and proceeded to the IV meds and started aspirating them.

"Right" she rolled her eyes at me and I can't help but giggle. She's a hopeless romantic and thinks that there's a happy ending for everyone even if her first marriage didn't work out.

The rest of my shift went by smoothly and successfully, meaning, nobody died so that's some sort of accomplishment. I then remembered I have no means of transportation, I'll be lucky if I get a cab in this side of town since people are out and partying about, hey that rhymes.

As soon as Rina left, I felt my body stiffen and almost dropped the three bouquets in my arms. Then I relaxed as my brain processed who the new being was beside me. Weird, my body has become accustomed to his presence that it doesn't see him as a threat. Or I'm weird for addressing my body as another being.

"Miss me?" His velvety voice was heard at the front of the St. Gabriel's, I turned to him and saw his eyes were still the same, but dark circles started to form under them. He was dressed in his suit and made me wonder if he came here from work.

"You do know that your actions are becoming more of a stalker's, Mr. Morgan" I smirked and I can see him smirk back, the tiredness of my shift was lifted off my shoulders instantly.

"Oh Ms. Crest, how I missed that smart mouth of yours" he grinned and I can't help but be speechless, what do you answer to that? Thankfully, he talked again. "I see you received the flowers I sent."
