9. Brother

-Wednesday-

I came over to the Beta house. "Here ya go, washed and alcohol free." Diego handed me my shirt and I laughed. "Aw thanks Diego."

"I honestly thought I'd never see you again after what happened at the party.." Said Matt as I hopped on to the counter. "Aren't we friends? I mean I thought we were-"

"After everything you've done for us, you're our sister man." I smiled. "I just.. Well we just thought you'd never want to step foot in this house again."

"I'm an Alpha. You're a Beta. Our Greek life will always have us associate. I can't avoid any of you guys, its impossible, and I wouldn't want to. There's no reason to. There's just one bad seed out of the bunch." I shrugged.

"Awww you love us." Kevin poked my cheek and I laughed. "Sadly, you've grown on me, losers. And in a matter of such a short period." They chuckled. "Welp I came back for my shirt, I'll see you guys later. Someone remind Jack to do the math homework and send it to me." They laughed as I walked out. Right on time as Theo drove up. I got in my car, which my dad had sent not too long ago, and sped off.

-Friday-

I put on a black long sleeved crop top, denim shorts, and I went with black knee length boots instead of the knee length . I tied a red flannel around my waist and placed a gold necklace around my neck. Gabby had done a smokey eyeshadow on me before I changed.

"I'm so excited for your date." She squealed. "Its not a date... he never said it was a date." I wouldn't mind if it was though.

"I got it!" She yelled as someone knocked on the door. I grabbed my purse and walked over. "Hey!" He smiled. "Hi!"

"Bring her back home safe." Demanded Gabby and he laughed. "Got it."

"So I know you said you like to do new things so we are going to the museum of natural history." I am geeekkkiiinngggg.

"Are you serious?" He stiffened up in his seat. "I mean if you don't want to-" "I want to! I just thought you were fucking with me." He laughed. "No."

I'm such a nerd. I had so much fun at the museum. We're having dinner now.

"I'm not much of a whole museum type of person, but I had fun on this date." Oh. "So its a date?" I asked. "I mean.." "Because I think it was a great date." He smiled.

"Shit I forgot I have to be somewhere." He said looking at his phone as we got in the car. "I can go with you. It's not a problem." He smiled.

"I appreciate it but that scenes not for you." I scoffed. "And why is that?"

"Trust me, you don't want to go."

"Look you can't make decisions for myself. We're having a great night, let it continue." He sighed. "Don't say I never warned you." He sped off.

He drove to the outskirts of the city. Kind of hidden actually. I noticed a bunch of lights, cars and people out in the distance. "Is this what I think it is?" He smiled. A drag race. He street races..

"Stay near me. There's a couple creeps here." I laughed. "Okay." He pulled up next to a Charger and parked. As soon as we stepped out, someone came over to me.

"What the fuck are you doing here." Theo asked angrily. "Is there a problem here?" Isaiah snaked an arm around my waist. Theo glared at him and gritted his teeth. "Keep her out of trouble. She has no business here. You know how it can get." He walked away. "C'mon."

"Ayy Isaiah my man! Isaiah's here! Put in your bets! Isaiah versus Theo!"

"Bets?" I questioned. "My main source of money." He shrugged. "Are you any good?" I asked and he laughed. "You'll have to see.. but I'm not gonna lie, Theo's pretty good too."

"What's a good night?" I asked. "A night like Theo and I, a couple grand." Holy fuck.

We were talking and then Jack came over. "I wouldn't have expected you to be here." He said and I smiled. "There's always a first for everything." I shrugged. "Hey Isaiah, take your spot. Alright everybody! You know the rules! Any accidents are complete accidents. We were never here! "

Isaiah explained to me that since this is illegal, obviously they're going at a high speeds, anything can happen. There have been fatal accidents here because of the racing but since everyone dashes, police think they're just accidents. That downed heavy on me.

None of them want to get caught so if there is an accident, they all leave and someone usually calls 911 and acts as a bystander. We all have to agree with it. Isaiah said there's consequences if someone snitches and says the truth.

"Alright, hey its time, I don't want to leave you alone-"

"I got her." Jack said and Isaiah looked at me. "I'm safe with Jack don't worry." He hugged me. "Good luck."

When I saw Theo's car roll up to the right of Isaiah's, it just pissed me off. I ran over to Isaiah's car. "Lia!" Jack called out as I closed the passengers door. "You really want to do this?" Asked Isaiah and I nodded. I turned to Theo who glared at me. If looks could kill.. Bitch I would be a goner.

I grabbed Isaiah's face and kissed him. That's when I heard Theo revving up his car. The girl threw up the bandana and they were off. Not gonna lie, it was terrifying at first but then adrenaline kicked in. "Goooo!!!" I yelled and Isaiah laughed. He turned to see Theo catching up.

I lost my shit when he drifted through a curve. "Wooooooooo!!" I yelled and he laughed. I could see the cars and the people not too far from us. I turned and Theo was right beside us. "Isaiah you need to fucking step on it." He turned to look at Theo...

It was so close I couldn't tell who won. It wasn't until we got off that everyone ran over to Isaiah, that I realized he had made it first. He hugged me and picked me up. He was handed the money and everyone was chilling around. Talking.

I walked over to Jack's truck and grabbed a beer from the ice chest that's on his tailgate. I felt someone push up against me, definitely a male because I could feel him..

I pushed myself back to push him off of me. I turned and he looked older than most of the guys here. "Excuse you." I scoffed. "What's the matter with you? I'm just tryna have some harmless fun." He placed his hand on my waist and I smacked it away.

"That's called sexual harassment." I turned to walk away but he grabbed my hand. Without a word, Isaiah came up and punched him. What is it with me?! I'm like a rapist magnet.

"I knew it was a mistake bringing you here. I'm so sorry." I stopped walking and he turned to me. "Hey that wasn't your fault." He hugged me. "C'mon lets get you home."

As I walked to my dorm, I noticed someone standing by the door. "Go home Theo."

"He's not good for you." I laughed. "Because you know what's good for me right?" He clenched his jaw. "How many times do I have to say I'm sorry Lia? Not a day went by when I didn't think of you." I rolled my eyes. "Save it Theodore."

"I really do love you Lia. I don't want to see you get hurt, he's not good for you." I turned to him. "No guy will ever hurt me the way you hurt me." He sighed. "I know I fucked up. Just let me explain please-" "Theres nothing to explain. You saw the opportunity of being free and fuck whoever you wanted and you took it. Forgetting I even existed."

"That's not true-" "How'd you meet Savannah?" He stayed quiet. "Go home. Brother." I opened the door. "Lia-" I slammed it.

Gabs made me spill every detail about tonight and she was shooookkk. "Wow you get all the interesting guys." I laughed. "What about Garrett?!" She smiled. "I think I like him." I smiled. "I hope you guys get together." She blushed. "I'm going to sleep. I promised Jen I'd go to the gym with her in the morning. Should've said no, but I'm not one to flake. So goodnight my love. Sweet dreams." I laughed. "Good night and good luck."

"Thanks, I'ma really need it." She said as she walked out of my room.
