-Thursday-

Lia's POV-

Theo has been able to grip tighter.. But he isn't opening his eyes. Our families are here in the room since its thanksgiving. I had just laid Madi in her car seat next to the couch when I turned and saw Theo looking up. "Theo!" They all turned to look at him. His eyes travelled from person to person before finally stopping at me.

His arm began to tremble then it moved little by little until he was reaching for me. I smiled as tears rolled down my face. I went over and grabbed his hand. Right then the doctor came in. "You're awake!" I stepped aside to let him examine Theo.

He started clearing his throat then swallowed before opening his mouth. "Mom." He said clearly and she ran over to him. "I'm right here baby."

"Where's Savannah?" That saddened me. "Who?" Asked Alice. "She never came Theo.. unless she dropped by when we were both asleep but I've never seen her... Savannah is his girlfriend.." She gave me a weak smile.

-Next Day (Friday)-

They ran tests all day. Theo can move his hands. His arms are still a little weak. He can speak.

The doctor came in. "Although your spine didn't suffer much severity, it did suffer a little bit. I see you can use your arms a little which is great. With accidents like these, it's very common for people to not wake up and if they do.. they tend to be paralyzed... you seem to be making progress on your upper body.. but I'm afraid you're lower half of your body may be paralyzed."

"There is a slight chance you'll be able to walk again like normal, but you will be in a wheelchair for a while as you go through therapy. From there your therapist will appoint you crutches if progress is made. If not... then you'll stay in a wheelchair.. better than not having survived. What's quite astonishing is that you don't seem to have lost your memory."

"What about football doc?" He asked nervously. "There's no easy way to say this Theo... Football can't go on. With such a severe head injury you just experienced, more blows to the head with a sport as aggressive, could prove fatal or may cause you to experience seizures. I know this is tough for a guy like you who's dedicated to the sport. Often times players get depressed, we have great programs for that.. but it seems like your girlfriend here could be all you need." He smiled at me woah. "Yeah she's pretty amazing." Said Theo. Double WOAH.

That definitely left Theo pretty bummed out. I mean football is his life, now he can't even play it.

"You guys can all go grab dinner. Get a good sleep. It was a long night yesterday. I'm sure I'll be fine."

I followed everyone out to the hall. "I'm staying..."

"Love I can stay, you've been staying-"

"Its okay Alice. I want to. Plus now that he's conscious, we need to talk." She hugged me. "I bet that girl Samantha isn't as beautiful as you, inside or out." I laughed. "Her name is Savannah."

"Thank you so much Lia. For everything." Josiah hugged me. I hugged my parents and kissed Madi. "Want us to grab you dinner?" Asked dad. "No thank you, that tuna sandwich is really growing on me from downstairs." They laughed.

"Did you forget anything?" Asked Theo. He had moved the head of the bed up so he could be sitting up. I shook my head no. "I'm staying." He smiled and patted the spot next to him.

I gladly went and got on. "Theo.. I'm so sorry.. about everything.. about what I said.." I began to cry. "When I saw you so lifeless.. I couldn't picture life in a world without you. I didn't mean any of it. Truth is I'm still so in love with you." He put his free arm around me.

"Hey don't cry. You had every right to hate me. I did fuck up... When I moved here I was so distraught about not having you with me. The idea of probably not being with you for years tore me. They say if you love something, set it free and that's what I had to do. Not for me, but for you. Because I love you and I wanted you to live your life. Maybe you'd find someone better that made you happier but nooo instead you went with bitch ass Isaiah." I laughed.

"He was good to me.. he just talked about his ex a lot but I understand.. he's still in love with her too."

"Good. So he can leave you alone."

"So what about Savannah?" I turned away.

"She's okay. I like the girl. She hasn't done anything wrong. She's a little clingy.. sometimes talks about herself too much but she's okay.. but I would drop her in a heartbeat for you... but you're with Isaiah soo.."

"Actually I don't know where him and I stand right now.."

"Ah I heard. You kicked him out. I'm proud you stood up for not just yourself but for me." I smiled. "I'm sorry for everything." He said. "Me too Theo."

"We're even now. Let's just put all that behind us. I really need you now more than ever." I nodded. "Don't break up with Savannah.." His whole vibe changed.

"Theo, its not that I don't want you. I do. We had such an amazing thing going in California and I'm sure we can have that again.. But right now I just need to find myself. I want to focus on just you and your recovery. And you and her seem to be doing good.."

"She never even came." He rolled his eyes.

"I heard somebody was awake!!" Jack and Matthew walked in with balloons. "Guys!" Theo smiled. "Hey man!"

We had told them the news and they were bummed about football but vowed to help him through his recovery and therapy.

"Hey.. Savannah's pretty pissed man." He rolled his eyes. "And why is that?"

"She said she came on Tuesday and saw both of you sleeping.. I guess she's mad that Lia was in the bed with you." I feel bad. "I'm sorry-"

"Please.. it took her four days to come see me. You never left my side. If she's butthurt oh well." Matt smiled. "So what is this I smell between you two?" He wiggled his eyebrows and we all laughed.

I turned to look at Theo as I smiled at him. "We're friends..for now. I just want to focus on helping him out. He wants to walk again so my goal is to keep him motivated through therapy." He smiled and grabbed my hand.
