10. Dynamic Duo

-Next Day (Saturday)-

"Are you guys having a four day weekend?" Asked Jake. "Three day. Saturday through Monday. But I don't have classes on Friday's so basically its a four day for me."

"We're getting Friday through Monday. I was thinking of driving down there after my Thursday class. I get out at 10am and its a ten hour drive. I already talked to Theo so I'm staying with him and his fraternity.. I wanna hang out with both of you, but I'm only gonna be there for a short amount of time. I was thinking the three of us could hang out?" I sighed.

"You're asking too much from me Jake." He frowned. "I'm not asking you to talk to him, I just want to be able to be with you two at once." I sighed. "That's the least I can do I guess." He smiled. "Great! I'll see you Thursday night. I'll text you when I get there." I smiled. "Okay just drive safe. Stay in touch with me." He nodded.

"I will. I gotta go. Love you."

"I love you too Jake." He hung up and I smiled. I haven't seen him in forever I'm so excited.

-Thursday-

I'm out having a late dinner with Isaiah. I think I like this kid man. I really do.

"I'm stealing you tomorrow night... Why that face?" I had scrunched it up. "I can't.. my best friend is coming to town tonight and well we have plans all up until Monday." He frowned. "What are you guys gonna be doing?"

I shrugged. "Theo doesn't wanna say-" "Theo?!"

"My best friend is Theo's brother. I'm kind of forced to see Theo. I don't want to but I have to. For the sake of my best friend."

"Whatever." He rolled his eyes. "Why are you mad?"

"I just don't like the kid. I don't want you near him."

"What's up with you two? You don't like him he doesn't like you. Why?" He shook his head. "Don't worry about it honestly."

I looked at him. "Look I like you. Just don't let him ruin whatever we have going on." I smiled. "I like you too."

"What should we do about it?" He leaned in and kissed me. My phone rang and I pulled back. "Hey I just arrived to the house."

"Oh my god! Ok I'll be there in a bit!" I hung up. "Hold that thought. I hate to do this but I have to go.. he just got here and well I haven't seen my brother in forever-"

"Go." He laughed. I smiled. I kissed him one last time before taking off.

I stormed into the house. "Hey Lia!"

"Where's Jake?" "Oh Theo's brother?"

"Hey Lia." He smiled. "JAKOB STEPHEN!" I ran over and jumped on him, causing us both to fall. "I missed you brother!!!" He laughed. "I missed you too Lia."

"Awwww. So like are you guys friends?" Asked Diego. "BEST FRIENDS MAN GET IT RIGHT." They all laughed at me.

"I might actually cry you guys." I think I feel the tears comin. "Lets stand up at least." Laughed Jake. "You're actually here dude oh my god." I hugged him again. Theo just watched us. "Its been so long."

We stepped outside and talked for like half an hour. I had posted a picture on snapchat and Adriana replied with "My fav dynamic duo is back!!! I am livinnggg" and I laughed.

The back door slid open. "We should get going.." Theo trailed off. We're not staying in Gainesville. Jake told me to pack up for a few days. "My stuffs in my dorm-"

"Go. We'll pick you up in a few." He said. "I'll see you in a bit. I'm really glad you're here." I hugged Jake again before heading out.



"Have fun!" "Thanks Gab!" I took my bag down and Jake was standing outside Theo's car.

"I'm sorry.." I raised an eyebrow. "I'm tired of sitting, I'm gonna lay in the back.. So you have to ride with Theo up front." I took a deep breath and exhaled. For the love of god.

I sighed as I opened the door.

10 minutes in, Jake just had to open his mouth. "So when am I meeting your girlfriend Theo?" He cleared his throat.

I turned to look out the window as sadness took over me. Why am I even getting sad? I'm talking to a great guy who treats me great. Stop it Cordelia.

"When we get back..."

"What about you Lia? Aren't you talking to someone?" I smiled. "I am."

"How's that going?" "Its going great actually. I think he was gonna ask me to be his girlfriend tonight, but then you called and I told him to wait till I got back." He gasped. "Why would you do that?!?"

"You're more important." I shrugged. "So you really like him?"

"Yeah I do." I noticed Theo gripped the steering wheel and stepped on the accelerator.

"Dude slow down." He kept going. "Theo" I grabbed his arm and his muscles loosened and he slowed down. "Sorry..."

We all grew quiet and eventually Jake fell asleep in the back. The tension between Theo and I is so thick and heavy, we both reached to turn up the volume at the same time, causing our hands to touch. I immediately pulled my hand back. He turned up the volume and ironically, It Aint Me by Kygo and Selena Gomez was on.

"You should take a nap.. I'm waking you guys early tomorrow."

"Where are we even going?"

"It'll ruin the surprise if I tell you." I rolled my eyes and adjusted myself in the seat.
