6th June

We woke up from the short nap and we still felt tired. Enjolras was still asleep. I tried pulling myself out of his grip and I managed to do that without waking him up. I got dressed into the outfit from yesterday.

"Good morning.", Courfeyrac said. "Good morning." "How are you doing?" "My sister is dead. How should I feel?", I asked. "I see that Enjolras kept you company all night long.", he said smirking. I threw a pillow after him and he laughed.

"Good morning.", a soft voice whispered in my ear. "Good morning." "I love you Clara, and no matter what happens today, I always will.", he said. He took of a ring from his finger. "Wear it for me. It's a sign of my love for you.", he said, putting the ring on my finger.

"Stay away from the battlefield. It's dangerous for you. I couldn't live with myself if something happened to you." "How can you still love me? I mean, I rejected you multiple times, almost got married to a prince, yet you still love me.", I said.

"People make mistakes. So have I, by not telling that I had a girlfriend.", he said. He pulled me closer and kissed me. "Stay here and wait for me.", he whispered. I nodded. But I wasn't going to let him have all the fun for himself. I was going to fight.

I walked outside to see Courfeyrac screaming at Gavroche. I stepped next to him and saw him being a target for one of the soldiers. The soldier gave a warning shot. He was preparing his musket to shoot the little boy. I sensed it and jumped before Gavroche. The bullet hit me.

I heard my blood rushing in my veins, everything blurred in front of my eyes. I could hear muffled screams but that was it. I felt being lifted up by one of the boys but I couldn't make out who it was. I felt my eyes close and I tried to fight against it, but I lost.
