I almost choked on my cake. It had been 5 years, I don't know why part of me expected him to have been waiting for me. Not like I'd do anything if he had, I was with Clark.

"Dare I ask, to who?"

"It's not Jita, if that's what you're wondering. She got married a few months after Jake broke up with her. He's marrying a girl he went to high school with, her name is Cheyenne."

Cheyenne. Huh. A name that's beautiful, and I'm sure she is too.  I felt my heart sink a little, and I was too full to eat any more cake. I drank my coffee in sadness. Jen was silent for a little bit.

"Y/N, it's obvious you still love Jake, why did you give up on him?"

That question struck me as odd, because I didn't give up on him, he had given up on me and given other girls what I had wanted deep down. She had known that. It sounded like she was asking for someone else.

"I do love him, but it felt like he gave other girls more of a chance, and I didn't feel like I was pretty enough to bring it up to him about how much that bothered me."

"Babes...," she says coming over to hug me "I'm going to tell you something and you can't repeat a word of it to anyone okay?"

I looked at her, intrigued but also terrified. I nodded.

"We all don't really like this girl, we think she may just be with Jake for the fame. Something about her is off, and we can tell Jake isn't happy."

My heart started to hurt at that comment. I wanted the best for Jake despite how we left things off.

"Why is he with her then?"

"She looks like you."

I was silent.

"Y/N, it's time to go get your man. Once and for all."

"But Clark"

"I'm sorry, but fuck him. He couldn't treat you right and still isn't treating you right. Do  you remember what you said to me all those years ago?"

"Um, no?"

"You said to me 'I want a love that runs wild like the river, feels like velvet and tastes like honey'. Darling, this is it and you know it."

She was right. I was going to tell Jake exactly what I wanted. Him.

"You're right," I said "What's the plan?"
