Under the Same Sky

The morning came and I felt my face sinking into itself. My eyes were dry and puffy from crying all night and my throat was dry. I went to the bathroom and washed off my face of all the makeup I didn't even bother to take off last night. My hair was tangled and ratty and standing up all on it's own. I sighed, too lazy to brush it out. I decided to just take a shower. It took me way longer than normal because I was so drained. I stepped out of the shower, with still no text from Jake. I did have 4 from Jen and 2 from Josh asking what happened and if I was okay. I guess Jake told them some of what happened. 

I heard the doorbell ring and i ran down, half expecting it to be Jake. It was Jen. 

"I brought ice cream" she said

"That's the sickest joke I've ever heard" 

She laughed. 

I led her upstairs and got ready in the bathroom while she plopped down on my bed, eating her ice cream. 

"So spill, what happened?" 

"I basically professed my love for Jake and he sort of brushed me aside."

"Shit" 

"Yeah he said, we can be friends if this agreement doesn't work for you." 

"that literally doesn't seem like him at all, especially after what he said to Josh"

I popped my head out from the bathroom., "What did he say to Josh?" I asked curiously

She put her hand over her mouth. "I wasn't supposed to say that fuck"

"Jen, tell me please" i gave her puppy dog eyes

"He said he's never felt this way about anyone before. That he really thinks you could be the one"

Omg. We both freaked out a bit and I texted Jake asking if he wanted to do something tonight. He said he couldn't tonight. Oh. 

"It's okay come hang out with the gang tonight. We're having a lil party at their cabin"

I agreed, not wanting to be alone tonight. 

The night came quicker than ever. I didn't worry about dressing up too much because it was just the gang. I threw on a floral sundress and my floppy hat and sandals. I felt good. 

We arrived at the cabin early to say hello to Danny, Sam, Josh, Joy and Kenzi. There were supposedly more people coming, but they had asked them to bring things so they had probably waited until the last minute. 

We were chatting, laughing, with Cream blasting in the background. This was what summer was all about. I was talking to Josh about their upcoming tour and all the places they would be going. He stopped mid sentence and looked up. His eyes went wide and he tried to mouth something. I turned around to look where he was looking. I came face to face with his twin. My heart sank. There was someone else standing next to him. A girl.

"Oh, Y/N, I didn't know you were going to be here." He said, quietly. 

I didn't respond. 

Jenny was the one to ask the question that everyone was thinking. 

"Aren't you going to introduce us to who you brought?" 

"Um, yeah--" He said awkwardly

"Hi, I'm Jita. I'm Jake's girlfriend." She said, cheerfully.
