Chapter 47: Poison

"Remember Hill. Act like you're choking. Leave the rest to me."

Iyon ang utos sa kanya ni Kael. Pumikit si Gillian at tinitigan ang sarili sa salamin. Naroon pa rin sila sa company building.

"You can do this, Hill. Do your best. Wag na wag kang matatawa sa sarili mo. This is your first acting career."She bit her lip,"This is ridiculous."

Ang sabi ni Kael ay ito ang naisip nitong paraan para lumantad ang mga espiya sa kompanya. Kung hindi niya ito magawa ng maayos ay baka mas mapahamak ang mga kapatid niya.

She took a deep breath then head towards the door but somebody suddenly came in and bumped into her.

"I'm sorry."Anito at basta nalang pumasok sa cubicle.

Kunot-noong sinundan niya ito ng tingin.

She felt a sting on her neck. Weird.

"Are you okay? Do you need help?"She called out.

"Yes. Carry on."

"Shall I call the company staff to assist you?"

"You better. Please."

"Okay. I'll be back."

Ilang metro nalang siya papasok sa dining hall kung saan kasalukuyang may banquet para ipagdiwang ang kanilang engagement at kanyang promotion. Nang biglang makaramdam siya ng paninikip sa dibdib and nauseous too.

Napahawak siya sa dibdib at di maiwasang mabuwal.

"Ah! Ughh... Gaghhh! Help... Help!"Aniya na halos wala ng boses.

A pair of familiar black shoes immediately appear before her.

"Hill? What is happening to you? Are you okay? Hill? Hill! Shit, shit, shit! Gordon, come here! Hurry and call an ambulance!"

Biglang nagkagulo ang lahat.

"Hill, you're doing great--"Nanlaki ang mga mata ni Kael nang makita ang pangingitim ng ugat sa leeg nito,"Fvck! She's poisoned! Gordon! Take her to the hospital and nobody else leaves the building!"

"Mr. Mendrez, are you suspecting us, your seniors as well?"

"You're under my territory. How dare you pull some tricks!"He said between gritted teeth.

Fvck it. So, be it. Hang in there, Hill. I'll find the culprit for you. This is a great opportunity. I can't let this pass And besides, Gordon has the antidote. He wanted Hill to act to save her from being poisoned but whoever these people are... They're fvcking quick as hell.

Inutusan niya security team na i-check ang cctv footage. Nagpaalam si Hill na pupunta ito sa cr kanina.

Maya-maya'y nakatanggap siya ng tawag mula kay Gordon.

"Boss! Some armed men intercepted during our transport. They forcefully took her."

Umigting ang panga ng binata sa narinig. Napansin din niyang nahirapan sa pagsasalita si Gordon.

"Were you able to neutralize the poison in her body?"

"She's fine boss. The poison is not lethal. I think whoever is behind this doesn't intend to kill her."

He heard screech through the line.

"Are you pursuing them? You're shot, Gordon! We'll think of another way. You already said they don't intend to hurt her."

"But boss--"

"No buts! Stop tailing them or there will be a rain of bullets any minute. Come back here and treat your wound. Proceed to plan C."

"Boss, they also took Ketu."

Kumunot ang noo ni Kael. Are they plotting something.

Hindi naputol ang linya pero dinig niya ang mabilis na paghinga ni Gordon. He's shocked and panicking.

Narinig niya ang pagsara ng pinto nito sa kabilang linya.

"Ketu! Ketu! Thank goodness you're still breathing! Stay awake! Who the fvck was that man?! Come on, hang in there buddy. We're going to the hospital.

"Al..."

"What?"

"A...ric... A...l-la...r-ric..."

"Alright, I got you buddy. Boss, you there?"

"Yes, I'm here."

"Boss, where is Alaric right now?"

Napalinga-linga siya sa paligid. He is indeed not around.

"Gordon, save Ketu. I'll take care of Alaric."
