Jaylee
"You are what?" I said cocking my head at him.

Like a fool, he decided to play sleep. He began to fake snore. I rolled my eyes.

"Orlando". I shoved him. He still didn't stop.

"Orlando Mario Cortez" I raised my voice and slapped his arm. He opened one of his eyes to peak at me. Then he raised up from the bed and rested against the headboard.

"Why you gotta say my whole name like that?" He said playing. I glared at him.

"Do I look like I'm playing with you? Yes or no?" I crossed my arms.

He thought about it for a moment. I know he was thinking about should he test me or just answer the question. I wasn't in the mood for games.

"No but baby I have to go to Houston. " He said grabbing my hand trying to get me to come closer to him.

"Why can't you do whatever the hell you need to do here in Washington? Why do you have to go all the way over there?"

He stared at me like I asked the stupidest question ever.

"You must have forgotten the last time that I decided to do business in Washington. "

"What do you mean?" He shook his head at me but I honestly don't remember what he's talking about.

"The drive by, Jay. The night we went out and them stupid mother fuckers shot my car up. " With a flick of a light bulb, I knew what he was talking about.

"Oh yeah, I remember that. That was here, wasn't it? I just honestly put it behind me to the point that it was almost like it never happened. I don't remember much of the details about that night. I just remember how scared I felt that night." I said playing with my fingers. He rubbed my cheeks with hands and kissed my forehead.

"I know baby girl. I'm so sorry about that. I wish I could make all that shit right. I never wanted that shit to go down with you around." He said kissing my forehead.

"But for that reason, I gotta go back home. I can't have that shit that close to you. I can almost grantee no crazy shit like that would happen down there. I know too many niggas for that shit. Plus, I can move like I want down there. That's my fucking city."

I sighed. Why did he have to live like this? I'm already knowing I'm about to worried shit-less about him.

"How long are you going to be gone?" I asked laying my back against the headboard.

" A week give or take. I just gotta make somethings happen and I'll be back. "

"And then what? You're going to come back here. Then you'll be back and forth from Washington to Texas." He sighed.

"Jay." He said warning me. I can hear the 'don't start' attitude in his voice.

"No, let's talk about this. You're going to Texas and handle business. Then, you're going to come back and then there'll be some reason for you to go back to Texas. You and I both know this is not a one time thing." I told him getting frustrated.

He was beginning to upset my nerves all over again. First, he wants to start back working. Now, he wants to freaking leave while we are in the middle of preparing to move in with each other.

"What do you want from me, Jay? Damn, I gotta make money." He throws his hands up in frustration.

"What I want is what you promised me from the very beginning. When the drive by incident happened, I was about to leave you. You begged me to stay with you because you said you were getting out of the game. Now this?" I said yelling aside his head.
