Jaylee
I sat in my car for almost two hours debating whether I should walk inside of the hospital to see Orlando. I'm confused about whether I should leave Orlando or not. He almost got me shot but I still care about him. I'll just see if he's fine.

"Um, excuse me. Can you tell me what room Orlando Cortez?" I asked the woman behind the desk.

"Yea, can you give me a minute?" She asked going through her charts. I nodded. I watched her scanned her fingers down the chart.

"Cortez?" She asked looking up for the chart.

"Yes." I was getting tired of standing here. She told me, he was in room 219. I started to knock but I heard voices coming from the room.

"Do you want me to handle him?" A very deep voice asked. I pretended I was on my phone, when a doctor passed by.

"Nah, I want to do it myself. He must be shitting bricks, if he thinks I'm not going to find him. He better hope I don't fucking kill his punk ass." Orlando said sounding so hateful. I debated on going inside. Yea, I need to because I need get something's off my chest. I called Orlando.

"Hey, baby girl." He said sounded so different from when I heard him a moment ago.

"I just left the front desk. What room are you in?" I said pretending I didn't know what room number. I just didn't want to walk in right after hearing that. Orlando would've known I overheard his conversation.

"219."

"Okay, I'll be right up." I said hanging up. I still couldn't get myself to open the door.

Maybe, I should come tomorrow. I started to get in the elevator.

From Orlando: Baby, did you get lost? I sighed and turned around.

No, I'm two doors down. I'll be there in a second. I stood there for a moment. I knocked on the door.

"Dad, can you get that?" The door opened. A tall light skinned man about six foot five to six foot eight. I could see the similarities in him that Orlando shared. I reached out my hand.

"Hey, my name is Jayce- Jaylee Hernandez." I slipped. I'm used to greeting myself as Jaycee Caroline but Orlando didn't catch it. A smirk spread across Orlando's father face.

"It's nice to meet you, Jaylee." Something about how he said my name didn't sit well with me.

I smiled and I walked past him. I felt something swipe my butt. I glanced over my shoulder. Orlando's father licked his lips at me. I pretended I didn't see it.

"Come here." Orlando said smiling at me. He reached out his arms for a hug. I shook my head.

"What's up?" Orlando said with a disappointed look on his face.

"Look, I need to talk to you about something." I said looking him in his eyes.

"Yo pops. Can you give us a minute?" Orlando said to his father. His father nodded and walked out the room.

"What's wrong?" Orlando said folding his arms.

I looked at Orlando in the hospital bed with his leg wrapped up. I started to get mad as I started thinking. He was no better than the man my mom's husband sold me to.

"I'm good. Thanks for asking. "He said with a small smile on his face. My mood made a whole U-turn.

"Don't play that with me, I wasn't going to come." I rolled my eyes.

"At least, I know what you handle. Every time, you get through talking to me."

"Jay, I'm sorry. I didn't tell you. I didn't know how to tell you that I was smuggling drugs. I knew if I did, I would lose you." I just stared at him.
