" What the hell Charlotte?" I ask, angrily glaring her down. By now her cheeks are cherry red.
" Oh this is your house!" She exclaims as if she'd just realized something. I roll my eyes at her realising her childish antics.
" Fine" she whines defeatedly and I keenly wait for her explanation.
" The thing is..." She begins seriously but her voice trails of and her eyes get misty.
" I lost my contacts and didn't even know how, when or why do came here" she bursts out and starts crying.
Two can play that game. I Lean towards her, pat her gently on the back looking genuinely concerned, then I say in a comforting voice
" Charlotte...I wasn't born yesterday and I'm not dumb. For starters you don't even wear contacts" I point out.
" Your right" she says making for the exit door so fast I can't react.
" I better go order some contacts" she says rushing her words as she rushes towards the door.
She's about to leave when Seth drags her back. " Not so fast" he says to her smiling mischievously.
" I didn't see anything, I didn't hear anything and I don't know anything" she suddenly bursts out without even getting questioned.
" Young lady you better start talking!" I order authoritatively. " If I remember clearly I'm the older one and taller one" She replies walking towards me to show the height difference.
" Low blow" Seth yells excitedly and I roll my eyes at him. He raises his both hands in the air surrendering.
" Charlotte? " I call out in a voice which urges her to go on. After a moment of silence she finally talks.
" Truth is I was unable to reach you so I became scared and decided to come meet you but on arrival I met something else" She says the last part smirking and I realize she's getting the wrong idea.
" Charlotte there's absolutely nothing going on..." I begin to explain but she cuts me off. "I understand" she says confidently, but she only understands what she wants to understand.
I decide to leave that comment without reply. An awkward silence follows and drags on till Seth suddenly bursts out obviously oblivious to the situation.
" I'm hungry," he whines. On normal occasions I would shun him but this time I'm happy for the distraction." I'll order the pizza" I say picking up my phone.
That's how we ended up eating pizza.
