The Confusion

        “Woah, did you just say…you…love…Alex?” Jake said, nearly shocked by Logan’s confession.

            “Yeah. Well, I really don’t know if this is what you call love but I guess something in that area.” Logan said, confused.

            “Well, you should talk to her. Confess your feelings. Who knows? Maybe she likes you.” Jake said.

            “Jake, can you hear yourself? Look at me, Jake, look at me. I am a boy. I have no match for her. Maybe she sees me as her younger brother.” Logan said.

            “You know what? I can tell that Alex really care for you. She was the one who told me to check on you. She was so worried because you shut her out.” Jake said.

            “What? I-“Logan said while remembering what really happened a while ago. “Oh no! I shouldn’t have yelled at her. Is she mad at me? Now I really don’t stand a chance.”

            “If she’s mad at you, she will not waste her time to look for me and ask if you have any problem. Look, I know the feeling. We have the same experience when I learned that I’m in love with my girlfriend now, Allie. And you know what? I risked all my chances. I confessed and luckily she feels the same way too. And also, don’t call yourself a boy. It’s your choice if you want to look like a ‘boy’ when she’s around.” Jake said.

            “Look, Jake, I’m not like you. And your girlfriend, Allie, is not like Alex. Let’s put it this way. Okay, I confessed my feelings for her. What if she decided to turn me down? What if she has a boyfriend? Or what if she’s already in love with someone else?” Logan asked Jake, more confused than ever.

            “How will you know if you’re not going to try it? I think Alex is not that kind of girl. All you need is guts. Work hard for it. You’re right, she doesn’t need a boy. She needs a man. So Logan, be that man. Or else, someone out there might steal her from you. Think about it.” Jake said then patted Logan’s shoulder and leave.

            Jake was on his way to his trailer when he saw Alex. He felt nervous because he knows what she’s going to ask and he doesn’t know what to answer.

            “Jake! I saw you came out of Logan’s trailer. So what happened?” Alex said.

            “Oh! Yeah. He’s really not feeling well. His stomach is aching. I saw him crying because of pain.” Jake lied.

            “Really? Did you gave him some medicine?” Alex asked.

            “uhm..not yet. Actually I’m going to look for you and ask if you have any. So, do you have?” Jake said.

            “Yeah, I have. Don’t worry. I’ll bring it to him. I also want to see him.” Alex said.

            “Alex, no! I mean, you can’t. yeah.” Jake said.

            “Why not?” Alex asked suspiciously.

            “Logan don’t want anyone to see him.” Jake said. He’s a little sweaty this time because of all the lies.

            “But I’m not just anyone to him. I’m his friend.” Alex said. “Well, whatever. I’ll be the one to take these medicines to Logan. Bye Jake. And thanks for your help.” Then she left and went to Logan.

            KNOCK KNOCK

            Logan opened the door and said, “Jake, I’m not-…Alex? What are you doing here?”

            “Jake told me.” Alex said.

            “What? Oh no! Alex, listen to me. Whatever Jake told you, don’t believe it. It’s all a lie. A big lie.” Logan said.

            “What? So your stomach is not aching? I just brought you some medicines. Why would he lie?” Alex said, now confused.

            “He said that? I have a stomachache?” Logan asked, also confused.

            “Yeah. He saw you crying because of pain.” Alex said.

            “Y-Yes. H-He is lying. The truth is…” Logan said, still thinking of a good alibi. “The truth is…I have a headache. Not…stomachache.”

            “Honestly, I don’t know what to believe. But if you really have a headache, here, take this.” Alex said while giving Logan a medicine.

            “Thanks.” Logan said. “And I’m sorry for shutting you out a while ago. I just-“

            “Logan that’s okay. I know your head hurts. It’s irritating. If you need me, just go straight to my trailer. I’m right there. Bye.” Alex said.

            “Bye.” Logan said.
