2011

It’s been already five months since Alex decided to accept Logan as her boyfriend. Everything is fine between those two. No arguments. No fights. Everything fits. Logan visits her in New York City every other day. There are times when Logan is so busy he calls her every day. Alex feels so special.

Alex was sitting on their couch, reading Steve Martin’s book, when Cat sat down beside her. “Hey.” Cat said.

“Yeah? Anything you want?” Alex said, still reading.

“Uhm, can I ask you something?” Cat said.

Alex stopped reading then looked at her sister. “Of course. What is it?”

“Actually this is personal and I know that you don’t want to talk about this but…Logan. How is he as a boyfriend?” Cat asked.

Alex was shocked. Cat never asks about her relationships. “Well, he’s good. I mean, he’s the best so far. Wait, why do you ask? Since when did you care about my relationships? I mean, you’re not the type of person who will ask about other people’s relationship.”

“Well, it’s because I’m dating someone.” Cat said.

            “Oh. Really? Who?” Alex asked.

“His name is Eric. I just want to know if Logan’s a good boyfriend. Because if it is, I want a relationship just like yours.” Cat said.

“Ok. Just because you’re my sister, I’ll tell you. He’s great. I told you, he’s the best. I’ve been reminiscing my past relationships. Especially my relationship with Jason.” Alex said.

“Jason? Momma really likes him.” Cat said.

“Yeah. She’s really fond of him. I don’t know if she’s going to like Logan as much as she likes Jason. I still don’t know how to tell momma about Logan and I. Last time she saw us, we’re still friends and now, everything’s different. I also don’t know if Dad’s going to like him. I don’t want Logan to feel intimated because of them.” Alex said.

“Well, are you happy with Logan?” Cat asked.

“Yes. He never fails to make me feel special every single day. I love him more than anyone. I suddenly remember my first date with Jason. It was nice. But, I know that he’s just in love with the ‘beautiful’ Alex. Not with the ‘crazy’ Alex. Logan accepted me for who I am. He still accepts me even though I’m a heavy drinker.” Alex said.

“Well, it means he really loves you.” Cat said then giggled.

“Yeah. I-“ Alex said then interrupted by her phone.

            RIIIING RIIIING….

            “Oh. It’s Logan…Yes?” Alex said.

“Hey. Uhm, I just want to say sorry.” Logan said.

            “Sorry? For what?” Alex asked.

“Sorry because I’m not with you during Christmas Eve. My family wants me to be with them. I know you want to be with your family.” Logan said.

“It’s okay. It’s not a big deal.” Alex said.

“For me, it is. Actually, this is not the only reason I called. I want to ask you something.” Logan said.
