Chapter 14: The Betrayal

Just as the treaty was set down and ready to be signed, explosions went off outside, scaring the crowd and Regis looked up slightly, knowing something was amiss as he and his council summoned their arms and took aim at the emperor's council. Lunafreya, becoming terrified, hid behind one of the pillars nearby.

On the Airship, Nyx finally arrived to find Pelna walking Phoebe down the hall. "Pelna!!" He yelled, causing the pair of them to look back.

"One Lucian and Tenebrae princess safe and sound." Pelna started to say as a tentacle reached around the corner and grabbed him.

Phoebe, as any young child would, turned to look and screamed in fear as she bolted over to Nyx.

"Come on kid, lets go!" Nyx yelled as he grabbed her hand and they both ran for it, being followed by Pelna being thrown in their direction, the impact of hitting the wall killing him as it snapped his neck.

Nyx continued to run through the ship, meeting up with Ashley who heard the commotion.

"Whats going on?!" Ashley radioed Drautos.

"Insomnia is under attack." Drautos explained while seeming surprisingly calm but they shrugged it off.

"Who brought you here kid!?" Nyx asked as they ran through the ship.

"General Glauca." Phoebe answered, running alongside them.

"She was bait, Nyx! Us coming here was all part of their plan!"

"I'm sorry. I never wanted this to happen." Phoebe whimpered.

"Don't blame yourself, Phoebe. You aren't to blame." Nyx reassured her then radioed Drautos. "Target secured! Requesting permission to withdraw!"

"Permission granted. get--" Drautos got cut off by an explosion, causing Ashley, Nyx and Phoebe to look outside.

"No!" Phoebe screamed, sensing the power of the crystal fall.

Ashley then realised realized. "They intended to get us out of the way..so they could go after the Crystal themselves."

Just as Ashely said that, the wall fell, leaving Insomnia exposed to attack.

"The wall..it's gone." Phoebe stuttered as some glaives met up with them.

"It's a trap! We need to leave!" Ashley yelled only to see one of the glaives go for Nyx.

"Nyx, look out!" Phoebe yelled, summoning the trident of the oracle and smacking the glaive with it., not knowing how to fight yet.

"Whoa! Nice one kid, thanks!" Nyx praised her as she dismissed the weapon and looked to the now KO'd guard. "The hell is happening?"

"What's the matter with you?" another glaive asked, only to be stabbed in the back, literally, by his comrade behind him and thrown over the railing.

The glaive then bolted towards Ashley and tried to kill her, only to have his ass handed to him by Ashley kicking him back and throwing him off the railing as well.

"We should go!" Phoebe reminded them and they slowly but surely made their way through the airship, parts of it being ripped off by another airship.

The 3 of them then made their way through a small gap in the wall and Phoebe soon was hanging onto Nyx for dear life, screaming due to how terrified she was.

Ashley reached down to them as Nyx swung her up to his girlfriend. "hang on kid!" Ashley yelled.

Nyx then looked to the 11 year old and called out to her "If you can use the royal arms, now is the time to use them!"
