I guess Ty didn't get my text, because when he opens the door to the hotel suite door he had booked before he and Harlee started getting a little rocky- he has a surprised look on his face when his eyes land on Jenalyn.
"Oh... hey?" he says hesitantly. "Is this-? Oh, Shit! Ha! I totally forgot Harlee was doing that today! What's up?!"
I resist the urge to roll my eyes. As much as I used to love Ty, he's turned into a pretty big douche ever since his tour with Generation Z the middle of last year. He and Harlee have been like... lowkey trying to end it for a while now. Harlee just doesn't want to expose Ty as a bad guy to the media because of what it'd do to her image- and Ty obviously has invested too much time with her trying to convince the world he's a good guy to want that either.
So they've just been mutually... using each other for media purposes.
I obviously don't agree with it- but Harlee's career means everything to her, so... I go with it when I need to.
"This is Jenalyn," I say with pep in my voice, motioning to the tiny girl beside me. I know I said I was going to take her to lunch, but I mean- look at her. You can just see she's got an eating disorder- I'm absolutely positive she will appreicate this more. "She's really nervous about this whole ordeal- I figured she could use a sesh while Harlee is busy."
Jenalyn shifts uncomfortably beside me, and I can't help myself from feeling it in my chest.
You know when you meet someone, and you don't know a damned thing about them, but you look at them- and it's practically like you can see all of their life struggles in their eyes?
This girl is young... she's barely even lived a life yet, and her eyes just scream struggle. I mean, without being rude- just her appearance in general does... but this girl has especially got something going on in the eyes.
I just feel for her. I've always had too empathetic of a heart- and she's just struck it in a way I can't ignore.
"A sesh?" Ty asks, his brow raised in entertainment. "How do you know she's down for a sesh? Isn't she Harlee's like- number one fan? I can't imagine that, Harpy."
I roll my eyes this time, but play it off with a laugh when I notice Jenalyn glance over at me. I know because the girl, young as she may be, is using cocaine. I got that insight before deciding to bring her up here- she was too nervous with my questions to hide it, I guess. I'm kind of smart to enough to know if you do that, you've more than likely dabbled with pot.
I'm not supposed to know about the coke though- so instead I turn to Jenalyn and raise a brow. "Are you?" I ask.
Jenalyn is tense for a moment, her eyes seemingly burning into me for any sign of malintent before a smile I haven't seen yet spreads across her face.
"Are you serious?" She laughs, turning to Ty and back to me a few times before her brows flatten in disbelief and she lets out another laugh. "Harlee Gold's sister has smoke sesh's with Tyler and Gage Robson? In real life?!"
I can't help myself from laughing, too. I knew this would open her up a little- show her that we're pretty normal too. I don't usually smoke, and especially not with Ty or Gage, but I know they do.
...and if it'll make her a little more comfortable, I guess I'm willing to do it today.
I flash Ty a smile, and he widens the door without hesitation. "It's happening today!" he says to Jenalyn as he does. "-in real freaking life!"
