(The story has returned to Violet's point of view)
I woke up to the sound of a door being slammed open. There was some shifting next to me, and I felt someone move away from me. I slowly opened my eyes, and looked around.
I'm in Blaze's quarters, but last I remember, I was on Grem hill. Blaze was sitting up in bed, and glaring at the door. Jewel was standing in the doorway with a big smile on her face. I closed my eyes, and tried to go back to sleep.
Jewel interrupted my sleep by saying, "Wake up lovebirds. It's almost noon! We shouldn't be spending this much time at one island. The Blue Captain could find us."
Blaze sighed, "I know that. We should leave before the sun sets. Now, would you leave."
She looked at me, and nodded. Then, she walked out the door while closing it on the way. Blaze turned his gaze toward me. My purple eyes stared into his red ones for a moment before he turned away.
I heard him grumble, "Why'd she have to wake us up. I wanted us to sleep in more, but she has a point. We should get up, and get ready."
He slowly got out of the bed, and walked over too his chest of clothes. He pulled out his captains jacket, and captains hat. I watched as put the jacket on over his shoulders, and the hat covered up his bright red hair. I wonder if his hair is soft.
When he turned to face me as I rested in bed, he sighed, "You should get up, but take it easy today. I hope you don't mind, but I moved your stuff in here. Also, I have something for you."
He picked up a small box off his desk, and handed it to me. When I opened it up, I was shocked. Inside the box was a necklace with a ruby surrounded by purple, and red gems. Purple and red, our colors.
I smiled, and leaped out of bed to give him a hug. He embraced the hug, and held me tight.
Softly, I whispered, "It's beautiful. Thank you."
He picked he necklace up off the bed, and pulled away from the hug. We were still really close as he helped me put the necklace on.
Looking into my eyes he said, "You're beautiful. I may not be the best at comforting someone, but I'm here if you need me. And if I'm not enough, you can talk to anyone on the ship. I just want you to smile again. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help."
I giggled, "Well, last time you tried to comfort me, you gave me a kiss. That might help, but this time, don't run away afterwards. Just stay with me long enough, and I'll get better."
A light hue of pink was dusted over his cheeks, and he chuckled. Next, he leaned in, and kissed my lips.
After he pulled away, he said, "I'll stay with you until I die."
I smiled, and stood up. When I looked around the room, something caught my eye. There, sitting on his desk, was a plate of cookies.
I gasped, "You have cookies. Why didn't you wake me up when they got here?"
He picked up the plate, and said, "You were sleeping, and I didnt want too wake you. Also, these cookies are for you. Olivia made them. However, we should be leaving the island soon, so you you want to look at it, I suggest you do so now."
I nodded, and took the plate from him. When I walked out of his-our quarters, I was greeted by Jewel.
She saw the plate, and asked, "Could you give me a cookie? Blaze wouldn't give me any because they were for you."
I laughed, and handed her a cookie. She quickly ate it, and walked with me to the ships railing. We looked at the destroyed island, and it reminded me of all the memories I made on this island.
Jewel spoke up, "The towns people said they were putting his grave on Grem hill. It has a view of the entire island, and it's very pretty. Hey said he used to go up there all the time with you. By the way, how are you doing?"
My eyes were focused on Grem hill as I spoke, "I'll be fine after a while. Blaze is doing his best to help, and I appreciate it. I just need time."
She chuckled, "Well, he's willing to give you all the time in the world. He really cares about you. More than I've ever seen him care about anyone. He doesn't even get this caring with our parents. When he's near you, he's not the 'Fearsome Red Captain'. He's just Blaze."
I smiled, and ate a cookie. Speaking of his parents, I wonder what they're like. Maybe we could visit. I handed the plate of cookies to Jewel, and walked back to our quarters.
When I opened the door, he was sitting at his desk while writing in a journal. I haven't written in my
diary in a while.
"Hey, Blaze?"
"What is it Love?"
"I'm ready if you want to leave the island, but can we come back every once in a while to visit?"
"Of course. We can come back whenever you'd like. Just let me know."
I smiled, and asked, "Also, can I meet your parents soon?"
He froze on the spot. It was silent for a minute, and I could tell his mind was racing.
His sigh broke the silence, "Jewel talked you you, right? I'm guessing she was the one to bring them up. Yes, you can meet them. However, you should know that my mother can be a bit...crazy. When do you want to meet them?"
"I want to meet them as soon as possible. Also, I don't think I'll mind."
"All right. I'll set a course for us to go there."
"Thank You Blaze."
"Anything for you"
