I could hear a voice. It sounded like an older woman. It almost sounded like my mom, but not quite. The voice was saying something.

"Violet, you need to open your eyes. Say hello to your grandma."

I did as the voice instructed, and opened my eyes.

When I opened my eyes, I was sitting in a big clearing. Trees surrounded the clearing, and flowers of all kinds. A pond sat in the middle of the clearing, and you could see all kinds of fish swimming inside. Animals stood by the trees. Each of them seemed to live in perfect peace. A few young children were scattered around the clearing.

Each child was sitting next to one of the animals. A small girl in blue had red hair, and a weird cone on her head. The cone was colored bright orange with a white stripe. The little girl laughed at the turkey next to her.

Every child wore a different color, and each of them had a different animal.

I sat up in the clearing, and saw a green orb float in front of me. The orb flowed with a green light.

I looked around, and asked, "Who was that calling my name?"

The orb moved in a circle around me, and the voice said, "It was me. I'm the green light you see. My physical body is trapped elsewhere. Welcome to my sanctuary. I'm happy to see you."

I looked at the orb, and asked, "Who are you?"

They laughed, and replied, "I'm your grandmother. I can't wait to see you in person. For now, I must go. She wants to see you."

I was confused. The sanctuary started to change.

The flowers withered, and wilted. The lake turned pure black, and the fish floated to the top. I heard the children cry, and the animals ran away. Trees lost their leaves, and bones were scattered in the field. The green orb turned black.

This looked like something from a nightmare. The black orb made something that sounded like a laugh.

A different woman's voice spoke, "Do not be afraid. There is nothing here that can hurt you because there is nothing alive here. Everything is dead. This is my sanctuary."

This is terrifying. I don't like it, and I want to go home. The sight of everything being dead brought tears to my eyes.

I looked at the orb, and said, "I don't like it here. I want to go home!"

The orb sighed, and said, "Alright. If that's what you want. I will see you soon Violet."

The world around me faded, and I closed my eyes.  When I opened them again, I was back on the ship. The lights were off, and I could hear Blaze snoring next to me.

I sighed, and leaned closer to him. It was all just a dream.

     But it felt so real.
