I held Flynn's hand as he coughed. Tears spilled from my eyes, and Blaze rested his hand on my back.
Flynn looked at me, and gently spoke, "Violet, i'm glad I get to see you again. I was scared when you left, but i'm happy that you're alright. I think of you as my daughter, and now you're all grown up. I'm glad you found someone who can make you happy. I want you to keep smiling, even when i'm gone. Your smile can light up an entire room, and it makes others happy. People are happy to be near you. Now that you've achieved your goal of leaving Paeonia, you can make the whole world happy. You'll have so many friends, and a happy life. You're already half way there. Violet, i'm proud of you. I always will be."
Tears fell faster from my eyes. My right hand held Flynn's, and my left hand grabbed the flower crown atop my head. I set the flower crown on Flynn's stomach. I've had that crown most of my life. It's made of the only flowers you can find on Paeonia. Flynn helped me make that crown. It was one of my happiest memories. The crown symbolizes one of the happiest times. My happiest times were with him.
I whispered, "Thank you for everything, Dad."
Flynn's hand went limp in mine, and he gave a weak smile before closing his eyes. I gently set his hand down beside him.
He's gone. I can't believe it. The person I looked up to, the person who raised me, the person who made me happy, the person who accepted me, is gone. This isn't fair. Why did this happen?
I know why. It's because of me. I left, and Chester ruined everything! None of this would have happened if I listened to him, and stayed on the island! He would still be here if I didn't leave! It's all my fault.
I pushed past Blaze, and ran out of the room. My mind was racing, and there's only one place I could go. My favorite spot on the island.
One I reached the top of Grem hill, I fell to my knees. I was surrounded by black and white flowers. Nothing was destroyed here, and it looked exactly the same as I remember.
This is where I made my first flower crown. Flynn taught me how to make them, and he helped me make it. I wore that flower crown ever since then. Occasionally, me and Flynn would come up here, just for the view.
I could see the entire Island from here. Everything was destroyed. I could see a few people running around the remains of the village. Some of the people were running of the ship.
Beyond the village, the sun was setting. The colors reflected off the water, and painted the sky. The colors faded from orange, to pink, then to purple, and lastly, blue. Glimmers of light shone off the soothing waves as they crashed against the island shore. The ocean provided a gentle breeze that made the plants sway.
I loved to watch this with Flynn. We would come up here all the time when I was younger. As I got older, we slowly stopped coming up here.
A few of my tears fell off my face, and landed on the soft white petals of a flower below me. I sat there for a few minutes, and just let my tears fall.
I heard footsteps on the grass behind me, and a figure sat next to me. I turned my head slightly, and saw familiar red hair, and red eyes.
Blaze put his index finger under my chin, and turned my head to face him. He placed his hand on my cheek, and wiped my tears away. We stared into each other's eyes. I was lost in his bright red irises until he leaned down, and kissed my forehead.
He hugged me, and said, "I know it hurts, but you shouldn't cry. He's in a good place where he can watch over you no matter where you go. The goddess of death took him, but the goddess of life made him happy before he left. The goddess of life gave him you, and that's all he needs to be happy. Besides, he'll never be truly gone. He has you to keep his legacy alive. He's happy, and you should be too."
I held onto Blaze, and thought about everything is done with Flynn. I have so many happy memories with him. He's important to me. He was the only one who cared about me, and stayed with me when I was growing up. He was the only true family I had as a kid.
When I first got to Paeonia, I was scared, and alone. I didn't know anyone, and no one cared about me. But, when Flynn saw me wandering the streets, he took me in, and helped me. I can't image what would've happened to me if he wasn't there. He was very special to me, but now he's gone.
Me, and Blaze we're still hugging when the stars illuminated the sky. By now, the air had gotten colder, and I was almost shivering. I had stopped crying a while ago, but I still felt empty.
Blaze let go of me, and I let go of him in return. I sat, and looked at the night sky. The stars were bright sparkling lights that dances in the dark sky. The moon cast a gentle light upon the Earth, and watched over everyone. Only half the moon was visible, but it was still beautiful.
The only sounds I heard were crickets chirping, and Blaze shuffling around. It was peaceful.
Suddenly, I felt something warm being wrapped around me. I looked down, and saw Blaze's jacket. It was the red and black captain's jacket.
I looked at Blaze, and he smiled at me. Without his jacket, he was in a simple white t-shirt with a red sash, black pants, and red boots. His hat rested on the ground beside him, and revealed his messy red hair. His red eyes were studying me. He looked amazing.
I gave a small smile, and layer down with my head on his lap. He ran his hands through my hair in a soothing manner, and I watched the sky.
My eyes started to feel heavy, so I closed them for a few seconds. A few second turned into a minute. I heard Blaze chuckle, and felt myself being lifted off the ground as I started to sleep.
I guess this is goodbye, Dad.
