Secrets of the Tablet

A couple weeks later, Teigra had long since given up trying to get home. She still didn't know how she got into the Air Force base. Plus since she became aware of her mother's murder, she doesn't see the need to go home. Especially since she has her brother with her now.

"Alex!" Teigra yelled as she was running through the halls.

"Lex!" Noam called yelling for Alexandra as he ran through the halls after his sister, who was running off to find Alexandra.

Two airmen plastered themselves against the walls as they cleared a path for the children.

"Careful kids." One of the airmen warned

"ALEX!" Teigra yelled again

"LEX!" Noam repeated

Alexandra stepped out of her lab, "Whoa! Ali." She picked up the little boy and then turned to his sister, "Is everything alright, Naia?"

Teigra came to a stop and panted for breath, "I figured it out."

"You figured out what?" Alexandra inquired as she shifted Noam so that he was sitting on her hip. 

"This." Teigra held up a tablet "I figured out what it means. Well Dale helped me but I still figured it out."

Alexandra smiled, "Good for you. What does it say?"

"It's partially about the Tellus Saeclum which translates to Earth Box, but it's also about something else called the Aevum Iter, which loosely translates to Time Travel." Teigra explained

"Are you saying there is actually a time travel machine out there somewhere?" Alexandra asked

Teigra nodded, "Yeah. And that would make sense given the pictures with my dad in them, but we don't have it. And this tablet doesn't say where it is. Well it does, but it's more like a treasure map. It's just a clue that's going to lead to another clue."

"Okay." Alexandra replied "That's good news and bad news. I'll let General McCabe know. Or maybe you'd like to let him know. After all you did figure it out."

Teigra bit her lip, "Um no thanks. You can do it."

"Alright." Alexandra agreed "How about you come with me?"

"I guess." Teigra stated "But someone has to watch Ali."

Teigra dropped Noam off to be watched by Grey, who had brought his two boys onto the base with him. Then Teigra joined Alexandra in General Gavin's office.

Gavin looked at Teigra when she walked in, "Major Procter says that you have something to tell me."

Teigra nodded, "Yes, Sir." She held up the tablet, "I had been working with Dale, and I...or rather we translated it. Some of the translation is a little rough because some words don't translate directly into English. Basically, it says that the Tellus Saeclum and Aevum Iter were placed on the earth along with a guardian to protect each one by a prophet named Tiresias. A new guardian is appointed when the old one dies. The Pure that we saw is the current guardian of the Tellus Saeclum."

"What is Tellus Saeclum and Avum Iter?" Gavin wondered

"Tellus Saeclum translates to Earth box and Aevum Iter means Time Travel." Teigra explained "There's no picture, but I assume that the Aevum Iter looks very much like the Tellus Saeclum. However what the tablet doesn't say is where the Aevum Iter is. It tells where the first clue is, but it will only lead to another clue. It's kind of like a treasure hunt. I think Tiresias set it up that way so that the Aevum Iter doesn't fall into the wrong hands."

Gavin gave a nod, "Can we find this Aevum Iter?"

"I'm not sure, Sir." Teigra replied "The clue on the tablet is a riddle that's outdated and hard to interpret. Dale and I tried working on it, but we couldn't figure out. We could try again if you'd like, Sir."
