Later in the afternoon when Alexandra, Teigra, and Noam are back on the base. Teigra went to hang out with Dale, while Noam stuck with Alexandra who headed to find Addison and tell him that she was alright.
Addison, who happened to be in the hallway, sees Alexandra walking towards him. He smiled happy that she was okay.
"Alex!" Addison called
"Hey Adam." Alexandra greeted as she ran and gave him a one-armed hug since she was carrying Noam on her hip. As much as she wanted to kiss him, she knew that she couldn't.
Addison pulled back. He gave a smile to Noam and then turned his attention back to Alexandra, "Where were you?" He studied her face and body language, "Is something wrong?"
Alexandra shook her head, "No. I'm fine, Adam. Well not really, but I'm not ready to talk about it."
"Lex and Adam love each other." Noam uttered. He telepathically read Addison and Alexandra's minds and now knew they were husband and wife. "Lex and Adam married."
Unfortunately for the happily, reunited couple, Noam had spoke their secret out loud just as Gavin had walked up behind Addison and had overheard the little boy.
Gavin cleared his throat, "Colonel Molloy? Major Procter? Is there something you'd like to explain?"
Addison turned around and just stared at Gavin. He really didn't know what to say. He was still shocked about his and Alexandra's secret being outed by a three year old child.
"Uh...Sir, if I may." Alexandra started "Colonel Molloy and I have only worked in this command for three months. We've been married for two years. I wasn't even in the air force at the time because I was still on sabbatical. Our personal relationship in no way affects our professional relationship. We can still work together objectively."
"I'm sorry, Major. Rules are rules." Gavin told her "One of you will have to be transferred, if you object you will both be court martialed."
"What if I resign?" Addison and Alexandra inquired at the same time.
Addison looked at his wife, "I would never ask you to give up your career, Alex."
Alexandra ignored her husband as she took a breath and addressed Gavin, "Sir, I'm a scientist. There's no reason why I need to be in the Air Force. If I resign, I can continue working in this command as a civilian."
"I suppose you could, Major. It's completely up to you if you'd like to resign." Gavin informed "I'll give you until the end of the week to make your decision."
Alexandra nodded, "Thank you, Sir."
Addison and Alexandra headed into Alexandra's lab to talk.
"Are you sure you want to do this? Retire from the Air Force?" Addison asked his wife
"We don't really have a choice, do we?" Alexandra countered "Unless we want to get court martialed."
Addison sighed, "Well no matter what you decide I will support you." He noticed that Alexandra had a blank look on her face. Addison stared at her, "What's wrong, love?"
Alexandra bit her lip, "I'm pregnant. I know the timing is kind of bad, especially with Naia and Ali needing a family." She was kind of using that as an excuse, because the truth was that she was terrified of having a miscarriage again. She hadn't wanted to have kids biologically because of that, but here she was pregnant.
"It's fine, love. I'm happy. We're gonna have a baby." Addison smiled. "And we can adopt Naia and Ali too. We have more than enough space in our home and enough love in our hearts."
Alexandra smiled back and hugged her husband, "Oh, I don't know how I got so lucky."
"Now how about we talk about what's been troubling you ever since you got back from wherever it was that you were taken to?" Addison probed
Before Alexandra could say anything, Noam started whining about being hungry.
"I'm going to take Noam to the cafeteria to get some food." Alexandra changed the subject and quickly walked away.
Addison sighed. He wished that his wife would just talk to him. He could tell that something was troubling his wife and he wanted to help her.
Addison headed to find Teigra. She and Alexandra were practically one. Maybe the little girl knew what was wrong with his wife.
Addison eventually found Teigra with Dale in his study. He walked into the room.
"Hi Dale." Addison greeted "Hey Naia."
Teigra looked up, "Hi Addison.
"How's Alex?" Dale wondered
"That's actually what I wanted to talk to Naia about." Addison stated. He looked at the young girl, "Did Alex mention if anything happened while she was with whoever took her?"
Teigra bit her lip as she shook her head, "No."
"You know something." Addison observed "What is it?"
Teigra sighed, "Okay, but not here."
"I'll give you two the room." Dale told them before walking out of his study.
"Okay so what happened?" Addison inquired
"Alex found out some stuff about her past. She just needs time to process it. She'll talk to you when she's ready." Teigra explained
"Come on, Naia. You have to give me more than that. This is my wife we're talking about." Addison informed
Teigra took a breath, "Alex learned that she wasn't abandoned at four years old. She was saved by her biological grandmother because she was supposed to die. Her grandfather and uncle wanted her dead just because she's a girl." This is one thing that Teigra hated about some of her dad's side of the family. Some of them were either still evil. Or they still believed in the old ways of killing the weaker, female demons.
Addison ran his hand through his hair and let out a breathy sigh, "Oh poor Alex."
"I want to help her as much as you do, but Alex isn't ready to talk. She needs to process this before she will be able to talk about it." Teigra told him. Then she thought, 'Just like I have to prepare Alex before I unleash another bombshell on her. The real reason why she was saved'.
