Chapter 21

Megan's pov:

Rye:" hey, baby."

Rye spoke through the phone.

Megan:"hi. What's up?"

Rye:" I was thinking that maybe we could go to the cinema."

Megan:" yes I'll be ready in thirty minutes. Se you later."

I said probably sounding  more excited tan a kid on his birthday.
I hung up on the phone and ran in my bathroom.
I had a shower and got dressed.
This is our first actual date since we are together.
I'm so excited even though I shouldn't be. I mean we already went on a lot of dates but I can't help this feeling.
It feels like everything will be perfect and I really hope so.
I'm so exhausted of hiding and all of that but today everything changes.
Finally.
I finished getting ready and looked at myself in the mirror.
I was fixing my dress when the door bell rang.
I quickly opened the door and rye appeared.

Rye:" hello beautiful."

He said before pecking my lips.

Megan:" hi handsome."

I smiled.

Rye:" are you ready?"

Megan:" yes, let me get my bag and we can go."

Rye:" yes."

I quickly got my phone and my bag. Then we left.
Wegoy in his car and he drove to the cinema.

Rye:" you ok?"

He asked as he drove.
My gaze moved from the road to him.

Megan:" yes. "

Rye:" you seemed deep in thought."

Megan:" I'm just happy. "

I smiled.

Rye:" I love your smile."

As he  said that I smiled even more.

Rye:" you're just so beautiful. I love you."

Megan:" I love you too."

He looked at me smiling.

Megan:" look at the road, please. "

Rye:" yes, yes don't worry. "

He laughed.
Fifteen minutes after we were at the cinema.
It's not a big one but it's really nice.
We got in and bought our tickets.
We took place with our popcorn.
Half way through the film I felt rye's a hand on my thigh.
I looked at him and smiled.
Then he leaned towards me and his lips met mine.
This feels so strange yet so familiar.
I still remember all the times we went to the cinema back in Bristol.
We would get seats in the last row and kiss during halfof the film.
It was so much fun.
When the film ended we got out of the room, following the crowd.
Then two voices made rye turn.
Two teenage girls called him. They must be fans.
Rye:" hi, what's your name?"

"shayla."

The blonde one said.

"Kylie"

The other one said.

Shayla:" can we take a picture?"

Rye:" yes of course."

Rye took pictures with them while I stayed near but not too close. I let him have time with his fans.

Kylie:" who is she? Aren't you with Jessica?"

One of them asked. As I heard her voice my heart skipped a beat, fearing his answer.

Rye:" we broke up but please don't tell it to anyone."

Shayla:" and she's your new girlfriend?"

The blondie said with an arrogant expression.
He looked at me asking for help but I wasn't ready just as him.
He looked at them and spoke.

Rye:" she's just a friend. "

Just a friend.
I know that it's not true but it hurt more than it should.
The two girls nodded and then they walked away towards my direction.

"she could never replace Jessica anyway."

One of them said, pretending that I didn't hear them.

"she's ugly."

The other one commented.
I know I shouldn't listen to them but everything they said hurt. It hurt more than anything.

Rye:" don't listen to them. You're beautiful."

I looked at rye as he spoke.

Megan:" yes, just friend."

I said angrily before headi g outside, towards the car.

Rye:" I'm sorry. I didn't know what to say and I couldn't make this public like that."

He said as we got in the car.

Megan:" yes, I know. Career first. "

Rye:" no, you first. You heard those girls. If I told them they would have put on socials and thousands of people would have said the same thing. I don't want fans to hate on you. And I still have to tell that I broke up with Jess. So please be patient."

I was almost speechless.

Megan :" I'm sorry. I'm just so tired of this being careful. I'd like to go around together like a couple. "

I admitted feeling bad, for getting angry.

Rye:" I know. I want that too. But we have to do one step at time. First I have to tell Blair about everything. "

I didn't answer. The whole way back home was silent.
I didn't know what to say and he didn't have anything to say.
After about half an hour, that seemed an eternity, he pulled up in front of my block of flats.
We stayed there in silence waiting that one of us would speak.

Megan:" I'm sorry, I didn't mean to be so annoying."

Rye:"no, I'm sorry. I know it's not fair what I did. I'm just asking you to be patient. I promise you that everything will be normal."

Our eyes et for the first time in thirty minutes and it felt like getting back home.
I wrapped my arms around his neck and hugged him.
He wrapped his arms around my body.

Megan:" I love you. "

I whispered in his ear.
I buried my head in his neck and smelled his cologne.
I closed my eyes and let the familiar feeling of his heat on my body take over me.

Rye:" I love you too."

He said before leaving a kiss on my head.
We kept that position for a bit longer until it was time for him to go.
We kissed quickly before I got out his car and got in my flat.
Although today didn't go in the best way, I felt the same feeling from before. Everything will be in place soon. I know it.
I trust rye and I trust this feeling.
