as i was at my locker, daniel handed me my phone, leaning against the lockers next to me. i snatched the phone out of his hands and examined the device, releived to see a clear screen. "thank god daniel, i thought you were gonna drop it while you were running off." i say, playfully pushing him, as usual. "well, dont get mad at me but there was a slight chance of me dropping it since i was flipping the phone over and over." he mumbled quietly.

"i'm never trusting you with my phone ever again." i say, shutting my locker closed. "yeah, sure." he replied, grabbing a hold of my hand and walking down to our class. the hallway was usually this noisy and crowded, we couldn't even talk to each other due to the noises around us.

right before we could even go to out classroom, tori comes up to us, throwing us an evil smirk. instead of talking to her, i try to get away, but she holds me back. we stand face to face as we stay there, clearly frustrated with each other. i didn't even realize daniel was behind me, i thought he went to go to our class. suddenly, he spoke up. "you're using jack, arent you." daniel says, as he's beside me. "depends how you mean it." She replies, putting her hand around his shoulder. he quickly shrugged it off.

"oh, so you are?!" i scream at her, pushing her away, using as much force as i could. she tumbled backwards, but regained her balance, watching her intently as she forms her hand into a fist. oh no, i wouldn't want to get in this situation. i run around her, before she couldnt even make contact with me and i run off into the classroom, while daniel follows right behind me. i looked back one last time and saw jack coming up to tori, making me feel angrier in every way. i decided to leave them, but i had to tell jack in some way. if he doesn't believe me, then i dont know how i'm going to be his friend for any longer. i didn't mean it like that, though. it's just that jack will be avoiding me and stick with tori. i'm still pretty surprised that jack likes her.

suddenly, daniel comes up and immediately drags me out of the classroom. once we were out, he gives me a death glare, causing me to avert my eyes from his. a bit later, once everyone went to class, he pulls me to the double doors and opens them, bringing me outside to the side of the car pool line.

"jessica, look at me." he sternly says, which made me quickly look up. "you can't just walk away like that, especially when jack was coming up. we had to figure things out." daniel states as i stayed silent, looking back down again. suspense builds up and tension rose in the air. as a habit i bit my lip, waiting in anticipation.

just say it, daniel.

he lifts up my chin with his thumb and index finger, cupping my face with his hands, making me unable to look down anymore. the only place i could look into was his blue, ocean eyes.
"you're running away from them." he bluntly says before letting go and walking past me, leaving me alone in the cold, frosty air.
