The bell rang, ending fourth period and we went to lunch. I ran into my cousin Sophie, who doubled (or tripled) as my other best friend.
The way that the twins and my best-friendship works is that each of us has another 'bestie' of the same gender, because there are just some things that he and I can't talk about: boys, periods, and other deeply personal female stuff. Both of us has someone to turn to when it comes to topics we can't discuss.

Ethan and Grayson have their football friends.

In their minds we're all best friends, but everyone knows that the twins and I have known each other the longest.

"I heard about what happened this morning, boys are such dicks." Sophie said.

"Yeah, Ethan really freaked out," I said.

"You two are so perfect for each other, you know that right?" she mumbled.

[HUH?]

"Sophie! No way!" I told her, thoroughly embarrassed. "We have been best friends literally our whole lives, that's not how it works."

Luckily Gray wasn't listening, because he and Ethan tell each other everything. I can't afford to have rumors start.

We found an empty table in the cafeteria and sat. Our other friends quickly joined us.
