I was cooking some spaghetti for the boys while they were playing upstairs when Jin approaches me.
"Can I help?"
"Sure...you can start by cutting some of the hot dogs over there", I replied, pointing to some freshly cooked hot dogs on the table.
"Ok!", he replied.
a/n: question, is that a thing to put hot dogs in spaghetti in other cultures, because it only occurred to me now that it might just be a Filipino thing...
As I was cooking the sauce, I heard a knock at the door. I went to go answer it, telling Jin to watch over the sauce.
I opened the door to find my best friend Mina, a Persian cat hybrid, followed by about eight other hybrids, her sisters.
"Hey Melody!", she said with a smile as I let them in.
"Mina! Hi! It's been a while; what brings you here with all of your hybrids?" I asked.
"I heard you have hybrids, is that true or are Jackson and BamBam making up stories again?", she responded.
I laughed. "It's true, I really do have hybrids."
"Great!". She then turns to her younger sisters. "Alright guys, go have fun with Melody's hybrids"
As the younger ones ran off, I continued. "I was actually about to call you after dinner, since there's about what? 8 of you guys?"
"9, actually."
"Ah...well anyways, you're welcome to stay for dinner! I was cooking some spaghetti...which I should probably go check on..."
"Spaghetti sounds great; we could use some food, and then after we can talk more about how to care for hybrids"
"Ok! Just let me check on the food." I went back to the kitchen to find the sauce no longer cooking. Instead, it's already been prepared into the noodles by a beaming Jin, who was excited to show me the results.
"Look! I finished cooking the spaghetti!", he says excitedly.
"Great! Thanks Jin, but how did you manage to do that all by yourself?", I asked.
"I've seen enough cooking shows at the pet store to figure out the basics. Funnily enough, spaghetti was one of the first things I learned."
"Okay, a bit odd, but as long as you know what you're doing...I'll go get the rest."
I found the other kids in the playroom, which was a huge mess. I'll deal with it later though. Food comes first.
"Everyone! Dinner's ready!", I told them. I was followed by a massive rush of ten hungry hybrids; seven of which were mine.
Good thing I have enough room for everyone, I thought.
As we all ate the spaghetti, I tried keeping track of all of Mina's sisters, to little success. I'm going to have to ask her later which one was which.
After dinner, the younger ones went back upstairs to play while Mina and I did some catching up, accompanied by her five older sisters.
"Oh, by the way, I've been meaning to ask, but could you tell me who's who within your hybrids?", she asked me.
"Of course! Jin is the oldest and a sugar glider, Yoongi is the one with the mint green hair (A/N: bc Mint Yoongi is superior) and a panther, Hobi is the cheerful chinchilla hybrid, Namjoon is the sweet clumsy pomsky hybrid, Jimin is the cute fox hybrid, Tae is the crazy red panda hybrid, and Kookie is the sweet bunny hybrid. How about your sisters?"
"You obviously know me, we've been friends since we were little. Have I really never introduced you to my sisters?"
"Now that I think about it, no, at least not officially."
"How silly of me. Well anyways, the oldest of us all is Nayeon, then there's Jeongyeon, then Momo, Sana, and Jihyo. Then there's me!", Mina responds as she introduces her sisters to me. "The younger ones are Dahyun, Chaeyoung, and Tzuyu".
"Wow. That's a lot of you guys."
"Trust me, you think this is hard?", Sana asked.
"Our cousins used to live with us, for a grand total of 14", Momo chimed in.
"14? Wow..."I replied in awe. "Wait...used to? Did they move out?"
"Not exactly...it's a long, awful story", Mina stated.
"That's okay, take your time."
They all looked at each other before slowly agreeing, and with that, Mina begun the story.
"Okay..."
Cliffhanger because I'm evil hehehe😈
