Third Person POV
"So the next question is for Scarlett" she leaned forward in her seat "I know for some of the other rookies their parents are their biggest supporters and you never really mentioned yours so I was wondering whether you feel like that also applies to you?"
George reached out and grasped her hand
"Simple answer, I don't have parents" Scarlett shrugged
"Everyone has parents" Lewis said
"Not me" she replied "They never cared about me or anything I did, in their eyes I was never as good as my older brother Ben so the day after he turned 18 he became my legal guardian, we got emancipated and moved out" she explained "I haven't heard from them since I was probably 15"
"And then I moved in with them once I was 18" George finished
"I don't miss them and I don't like when people pity me over it so I don't talk about it" Scarlett shrugged and leaned back
After the press conference most of the drivers had gone to have snacks
"Mate" George headed over to Lando "They were asking about her parents today in the conference"
"Seriously?" Lando asked "is she okay?"
"You've seen her, she literally has no emotion when she talks about them" George shrugged
"Shit" Lando sighed "there she goes now" George headed over to Scarlett and pulled her out of the room
"Are you okay?" He lowered his voice
"Yeah, why?" She frowned
"I know that question today threw you off" He sighed
"I'm fine" she shrugged
"Scarlett" he held her shoulders, she met his eyes and he sighed before pulling her into his chest. Almost immediately she hugged him back and he stroked her hair "I know you don't miss them but you're allowed to have emotions"
