Third

May has an ecstatic look on her face as she stands up, brushing the ash off her clothes. She was prepared to fight her way out today, but she didn't think she'd be fighting the person she had to suck up to the most, the person who killed those in her tribe. Its not like she really resented him or anything since her tribe wasn't all that good to her. It's just the principle of the thing.

Her cold smile send chills down the guards spine and she slowly circles around him. "Hal. Let me go. This is the only way."

The guard is still in shock, he liked this girl (as disgusting as it is), and she's been playing him for a fool. He doesn't care that he killed everyone in her tribe, or if the girl really wants to, she's not getting away easily.

May noticed the resolve in the guard's eyes and inwardly cursed herself for not just leaving. "Well..." She pulls out her blue crystal and let's it sink into the palm of her hand. Usually she always keeps it on, but she hoped she wouldn't need it for the rest of the day. "If that's how ya want to play."

They both prepare to fight other, one fighting with an intent to kill and the other fighting for her freedom.

The guard makes the first move coating his weapon on a blaze of orange flames. His weapon of choice is the same sword used to to destroy the earth tribe in which the girl came from. If he can't keep her there, he'll kill her, but if she surrenders he'll let her live and never speak of her betrayal.

May uses the water from the ocean to fight against the annoying fire bender she had to use up until this point. She feels no regret for what she's done, but deep down she wishes she never had to fight this man.

The battle ends with May on the boat holding her now charred arm. She can't help but cry at the searing pain of the third degree burn Hal has given her. No amount of water seemed to sooth the burn, and May is too out of sorts to heal it.

The guard lost the fight when the girl knocked him out, before he lost consciousness he sent a ball of blue fire at May, one she couldn't avoid.

May hides in the stock room of the ship, trying to be as quiet as possible, but the crying isn't helping at all. "Ugh! Okay breath... Just breath. I need water!" She finally calms down enough to use her water bending to coat her arm in soothing, healing water. "Its all over. Hey god, you can see me right?" She lets out a pained laugh, "I'm free!"

Her laugh becomes more joyful by the moment. "I'm finally free!" She put the water back then let the crystal float out of her hand, the three others soon following.

"Good job May! I knew you could do it!"

She jumps in surprise at the famailiar voice. "God!? Have you been here the whole time!? What kinda reincarnation anime bullshit is this!" She's not actually mad, just kinda shocked. If they've been her the entire time, why didn't they do anything!?

"Yeah yeah, sorry 'bout that! Didn't expect you to drop your birth name just to use your old one."

May shrugs and stands up, her right arm is almost completely burned, but it doesn't hurt anymore. "Well, Kira is a cute name, it's just not mine. May Ziro has and always will be my name, at least until I can't remember it" she giggled.

"That's fair. Say, why didn't you kill that fire tribesman? He was definitely going to kill you if you hadn't knocked him out when you did, and he killed your branch of the earth tribe."

May hums and leans against the wall. The ship is moving now. "Well, I guess I don't particularly care. The tribe wasn't all that kind to me because of how I look. I'm super cute by the way, thank you for that! "

"You are welcome!"

"Anyway, I guess I don't feel attached to them at all. I've been stuck with this mess of a tribe for what... like seven years now? And I don't feel attached to them either." She holds her hand left hand out to the crystals, because her right arm won't move. "Anywho, thanks for what you've done for me. I'll live freely now!"

"Well... Uh.. May, could you do something else for me?"

She shrugs. "Sure, whatever."

"I'm gonna send you to the southern water tribe. There you should stay, rest, and train."

"Well, resting and training was already part of my plan, but sure, I'll train in absolute 0 temperatures just to make ya happy." She rolls her eyes, dreading the thought of being frozen to death.

"You have the crystals, you'll be fine! Try not to use them all at once though, you wouldn't want people thinking you're the Avatar or anything."

"Say no more. I got it. Can I have a hoodie though? Like the baggie comfortable ones?"

"I don't see why not." The crystals surround May and light travels up and down her body, changing her clothes and cleaning her up. When its done, May is in a black hoodie with black jean shorts to match. "How's that? Remind you of your last life? Is it comfortable?"

May nods and shoves her hair into the hoodie before actually putting on the hood. "I appreciate this. Well, I guess I should tell Iroh I'm on board before Zuko finds out..."

"Perhaps that would be for the best, he is fond of young girls."

"Ew, don't say it like that! Makes him sound like a pedo! He's a very kind and gentle old man, that would probably make an excuse for me, and give me something for my arm."

"Hahaha! I'll speak with you again someday. Do not lose these crystals, you're the only one who can use them after all!"

The crystals fall into the palm of May's hand one by one. She has them sink into her palm, since it's the safest place to put them. As long as she doesn't accidently bend anything, it should be fine... Right?
