It's the day of the solstice and Zu is still chasing Aang. We got a tip from a run down village about where he was going, and of course he just has to chase them.
It's getting more and more dangerous as our ship approached fire nation territory, I can hardly stop myself from shaking.
"May, I don't think he's going to turn the ship around, go hide within the ship." Iroh warned me, though it fell on deaf ears.
"Uncle, I won't hide... I'll stand with my friend, and protect him as best I can- woah!" I fell backwards since I wasn't prepared for the impact on the ship. These flaming balls they use to fight are heavy and annoying. They also smell horrible, not gonna lie. One hit the engine directly, but Zu still doesn't want to stop going forward.
"Ugh, we're not gonna get anywhere like this. Kai!" I shouted as I threw my body off the ship. Before my clothes could touch the water I was picked up by my magnificent spirit guide, and with his help I did my best to protect the ship from the flaming projectiles.
There were a lot, but nothing Kai couldn't handle, at least, that was until I got distracted. A familiar scream rang through the air, and against my better judgement, I leaped from Kai's back and dove thought the clouds to catch my brother, who isn't my brother, but he is my brother.
"Sokka! Are you okay?"
"M-m-m-m-m-MAY! What are you doing up here!? We're both gonna-"
I cover his nasty mouth with my hand and used an air bending technique to slow our fall until Kai catches us. From overhead, I notice my little sister and the Avatar diving on Oppa in an attempt to save Sokka, undoubtedly.
"Katara! Aang! Take him and go! Go! Don't say anything, just get out of here, now!" I threw Sokka onto the saddle of the bison and waved at my family that I need to leave behind again.
"Katara! I hope you're practicing everyday!"
The girl I called out to stared at me, her eyes filled with tears, probably because she was worried and maybe happy to see me. Don't get me wrong, if we weren't hundreds of feet in the air, I'd be crying too.
"May! I missed you! Please be careful!"
I nod, waving at her as we quickly return to the boat because my burned arm started to ache.
"Ugh... Zu! We need to turn back!"
Zuko looks angry, as usual, but then his eyes landed on me and for a minute, I honestly couldn't tell if he's worried or mad at me.
He didn't yell or anything, but he came over to me and did something unexpected. He picked me up and took me into the ship.
"Get some rest. We'll get the Avatar and you'll have your freedom."
I stare at him for a good, I dunno, ten seconds, before flicking his forehead.
"What is wrong with you. Have you lost your damn mind?"
