-another year later-

I've finally mastered using my swords after three years of training with them. The only thing I lack is real battle experience, but that can easily be gained.

Katara is still struggling with her water bending and Sokka has taking being Cheif to heart. I've gotten used to the role of older sister with these two. They've confided in me, relied on me, treated me like family, and frankly I really like it. In my last life, I was the oldest child of twelve, our parents died after I graduated college, enough said.

____________

"May! Do you have a minute?"

I'm not really doing anything too important, just massaging the scar on my arm. It's kind of just a discoloration on my skin now, doesn't even cover my whole arm, just the top side and parts of my fingers. "Yep~ what is it, Katara?"

She sighs,"Sokka was being an idiot this morning and left to practice, he's hasn't come back yet. Can you look for him while I do the other chores?"

"That boy... He's the cheif now what's he doing leaving the tribe unattended." I'm mildly disappointed in him for this, but stuff like this happened all the time. Someone wonders off and since I'm here and have Kai, I have to go find them- but we've never had this problem with Sokka.  "I wouldn't expect it from him at all, he's been pretty responsible lately... I'll go now."

Katara knits her eyebrows. "Sokka? Responsible? As if! Well, you might want to dress a little warmer since you're going... I don't see how you've been walking around here in shorts this whole time."

I chuckle nervously, "It's  been three years and now you wanna bring it up?"

"I never really thought about it until now." She giggles. "Well of it hasn't bothered you for three years, I guess is still won't bother you now. See ya later, and give Sokka a good lecture!"

I sigh in relief, glad she's not planning to press on it. "Fine, fine. I'm going now~." I wave at her while walking out of the hut. I don't bother Kai, since he's napping, and go straight to the spots Sokka usually trains.
No matter what I want to think, I can't shake the bad feeling I have about this.

___________

I've walked around for a while now and haven't found him yet. Now I know something is wrong.

"HELP!"
I'd know that girlish scream anywhere, it's Sokka and he's probably in a hell of a lot of trouble if he's actually calling for help.

I take off running in the general direction of where Sokka's scream came from, at least until I remembered I can water bend an ice ramp to get there quicker.

______________

It became very apparent to me that Sokka is an idiot. He attracted a herd of snow antelope leopards and they backed him into a corner of ice. The leopards are big enough to ride on, but slightly smaller than Kai was when we first met.

I click my tongue. "Okay, what the hell did ya do ya idiot!? How did you attract an entire herd of leopards!!"

He basically cries when he sees me"M-may! Do your magicy water thing and save me!"

The leopards separate, some turning their attention to me. They growl, barring their teeth, which either means they're threading us, or they wanna eat us.... Or both."We've told you it's not magic! Stay still and throw away any food ya have on you!"
