ch. 24: Shimmering Jewels pt. 1

I am May Ziro, and I've been traveling with my childhood best friend in search of the Avatar, even though I'm not allowed to get involved per his orders. I used to be really mad at him, but now it's just whatever. We're hot on his trail, and are now on foot searching for him while I am to act as Zu's personal guard,even though have the fire nation's army is after me-..... How fun...

"Uncle it's time to leave, where are you!?" Zuko shouted as he split the bamboo curtain in search of our uncle.

"Ya don't have to let the world know we're here Zu..." I sighed, standing to the side as I knew that behind the bamboo was a hot spring and I do NOT need to see that. I know uncle is taking a bath and who wants to see that?

Eventually, Zu came back to me with a disturbed expression on his face. "You knew, didn't you?" He asked.

I simply giggled and held out my hand. He sighed, rolling his eyes before taking my hand and letting me lead him through the forest, since I knew the path. He was reluctant to do this at first,but he gave in after a while and it made me so happy! Ahem..... He doesn't need to know that though.

Once we made it back to the ship, I felt the need to take a shower, and being the only woman on the ship, means I get that entire room to myself for as long as I need it. The only thing I can't do is wash my hair, I need to do that elsewhere.

I wash my hair on the deck of the ship, because I need the light, and I heard someone walking behind me.

"May, after sunset we-....." Zu cut himself off, so I looked back at him with half my hair still floating in the water.

"Hm?"

Zuko stared at me, directly in the eye for a solid minute before clearing his throat and turning on his heel. "I'll talk to you after you're done." He muttered as he walked away, back into the ship.

"Eh? What was that about?" I asked Kai who just decided to land on the ship. He, of course, didn't have an answer.

I pulled my soaked hair out of the water, drying it with my air bending gem, before walking into the ship in order to find my friend.
