Chapter 5

Tony's POV

He hugged me. I felt that I could hide my entire thoughts and feelings under his arms. He was warm and he felt protective. Oh! How I missed him. He never did hug me like this before but I just wanted to stop this moment. But every good thing lasts for a very short time. He suddenly broke the hug.

'Tony! Listen to me.' He began.

'Carry on Cap! I am listening.' I replied, knowing very well that I had forgiven him.

'I know you won't forgive me and I know I am really at fault but I am promising you something, I will bring Peter back and we will do this together. I will be with you this time, till the end of the line.' Steve continued.

I mean who was he kidding? I would definitely forgive him. His puppy eyes and his words anyway melt my heart within seconds. But was he so stupid that he doesn't understand this?
And about Peter, I would do anything to bring him back.

'Cap! Go upstairs and eat something. You are all over my life from the time you entered the lab.' I replied.

'Tony, well before I go upstairs, I just wanted to say..' steve was about to say something.

And all I could think was what was he going to say. Oh my! Why is my heart beating so fast? It's just Steve. He would probably just say 'I can do this all day'.

'Just join me, I mean join us all for lunch?' he finished.

'I'll think about it.' I replied.

I saw him leaving the lab, smiling. I knew he understood that he was forgiven.

Steve's POV

I hugged him without thinking twice. I know he needed it but I think I needed it more than he did. I lost Peter and I had almost lost him too. Tony is precious to me. He is that little gem which I would keep with me forever, the little flower I would water everyday just to watch it bloom beautifully and he is that person for whom I could sacrifice anything in life. Buck, was correct. Who was I kidding, it is clearly visible that I love him. From fighting with each to fighting for each other, when he became more than a friend and when he became so much important to me I didn't even realise. Tony probably doesn't know how much he means to me and how much I love him but he will definitely know one day.

He has been avoiding everyone and he has been keeping himself locked here I know. I wanted him to be back, back where he belongs. I asked him to join me for lunch and I know, he will but who can ever stop Tony being the Tony Stark.

I saw him smirking at the things I was saying and I thought before I say anything stupid I should rush back upstairs.

Stark Tower, Upstairs- Dining Room.

'so what did we miss?' Nat asked.

'Nothing Nat! I missed you guys so much.' I replied.

'So bud! Is everything solved?' Bucky asked.

'Tony is over dramatic, give him time, he will be fine.' Nat replied.

'C'mon Nat! He is not. He was just angry and I completely understand that.' I replied.

'Am I missing something too important?' Tony entered.

'Yeah, Steve's real feelings for you.' Nat just blurted out.

'Is it Cap? Why don't I ever get to hear these when I am around? I mean if it's about me, I should know too right?' Tony said.

And I don't know if I was smiling or blushing but I knew my expressions were not normal definitely and I know it would never go unnoticed. Tony knows very well how to play with words. He will be just around me and he will make me immensely happy with just those brown eyes looking at me. I was too busy thinking about the person standing right infront of me that I didn't realise when he came and stood really close to me.

'And what are you thinking Cap?' Tony asked.

'About you!' I replied.

I saw a tiny blush on his face which I saw he instantly covered with a smirk. I knew a reply was about to come but I too had to cover up.

'About you, I mean I was wondering why don't you just stay with us upstairs here for sometime and not go back to the lab?' I continued.

I saw his smirk change into a small smile, maybe that was a yes but who knows? Maybe it wasn't.
