A Kiss of Goodbye

48: Happiness

             I got released from the hospital the day after getting into the emergency. Gregg did not go home and stayed by my side ever since the confession. Happiness was evident in his eyes I am flattered. I never imagined to have kids and a partner at 25 but here they are.

                "I knew it on the very first day I saw you at school that you are meant for me Aevey. I don't know how, I just kind of felt it deep in my heart. I got so sad that day you transferred but I prayed so hard that one day the universe and fate will connive and our paths would come across again and it did. Now that I have you in my arms I'm not letting you go. Please marry me Aevey Dounhil and give me the chance to bring you love and happiness." He said tearfully caressing my cheek as he suddenly knelt in front of me popping a ring while I was sitting on the couch when we were watching a movie.

               -"As much as I want to disagree but, you are the best thing that happened to me Gregg." I answered almost fluttering the words in awe of his action. I am also tearful as I wiped away his tears with my thumb. I kissed his lips longingly. -"Yes, yes Gregg. I will marry you!" He hugged me tight and we cried our hearts out.

                He decided to move in with me and bear the distance of travelling here-to-work and vice versa just to watch over and help me although I did not agree but he was stubborn. He always fetch me from work and even asked me to quit my job and promised to sustain for us but I declined his offer, good thing I have managed to persuade him.

                  There are so many moments we were tempted to have sex but have controlled ourselves for the sake of our babies telling and reminding eachother that we will have more of it once they are out.

                    -"Ah....owwww!!!" I let out a long and painful growl as I stood up from my work table trying to go to the bathroom. I have been feeling light contractions since last week; this time it became more intense and a little less bearable. I have been 32 weeks in gestation. "Ahhh..hhhhhh" I shouted and hissed as I made my way to the exit of my department. I told my manager that I think I am in labor. She  let me head to the OB area. I immediately called Gregg who's still in a meeting. "I'll be there right away love." -"No Gregg, I can do this, just finish your meeting." I told him feeling painful as I stride my way to the hall.

                 "You are my top priority Aevey." He protested and I heard him lightly talking to someone. "Just tell me where you are, I'm on my way love. I love you so much!" I hang up and did not bother to answer him as I felt my fluidsac break.  -"Ahhh.. huhhhhh.... Help, somebody..I think I'm in labor." I rushed to the reception area and informed my friends in the OB area. They rushed me to the delivery room seeing me ready for labor. The doctor performed some tests and confirmed that it is already a true labor. I decided to go through normal delivery.

                        "Push Aevey, push.." the doctor called. -"Ahhhhh...huhhhhhh..huuuuhhhh..Ahhhhh". I cried shamelessly holding one of Gregg's hand, while he was wiping my tears and sweats away. He was on time the doctor told me to push out the babies. "You can do this love." He cheered me on. I did as I was told and have managed to push one out it made me so happy but the battle is not over, I still have one left inside me. "Ahhhhhhhhh......" with one long pause of breath and push my second baby is out. I heard them cry and suddenly I got so weak and couldn't hear the noise around me. My eyes are closing and I felt drifting away.

                "Aevey!" His faint call was the last thing I heard.
