Elena is a dancer in a bar in Manila. She only finished high school and was forced to work as a dancer when her mother who used to be a dancer quits because of lung cancer. Being the eldest daughter with three younger siblings, she was forced to do what her mother used to do for work. It was an easy job but it comes with a price- lossing her pride. But her family can't depend on pride to live, so she did it purely for survival- so she can support her family who now depends solely on her. At age 24, she has been working as a dancer for two years now- at first it was hard but she got used to it. What's with showing a little bit of flesh- but that's all she did. A lot have tried to get her and even willing to pay a lot of money, some even want to give her a house and promised her the world- just so they can have her, but she politely refused.
She already lost her pride, she won't let herself get drowned more by selling herself. It's the only thing she has left- her dignity.
Many might raise their eyebrows and think she is a hypocrite- but she could care less. What matters is- only she knows who she is and she isn't fully tainted by the world she belongs in.
She still wishes one day she will meet her prince and only him will have her- a man she will love, and marry one day.
Alejandro is a conservative mestizo born from a wealthy Spanish/Filipino/American family in Cebu.His family owns a chain of pawnshops all over the country and has their own shipping line called Velez Express- it is both a passenger and freight/cargo company. He is the COO of the Velez Express and he frequently travels around the country and around the world to oversee the operations of the Company.
With his busy life he doesn't have time for a lovelife - the demands of a relationship, is something he doesn't need at this time of his life. It is chaotic as it is- adding another complication is far from what he needs.
