Chapter 43

Elena asks permission to go with Alejandro to go to Cebu. Her mother said ok and Elena asked Joanna to take charge while they are in Cebu and promised to always check with them even away.

Alejandro said they will be there for three days.

Elena is nervous to meet Alejandro's

Mom but he assured her that she is nice.

As she lies down on her bed while her sister Joanna, her mother and brothers Daniel and Miguel went out for her check up at the hospital, Elena opted to stay home although she also wanted to go with them, but she needed the alone time to think things over, she is anxious and at the same time excited to meet Alejandro's mom but at the same time she is not sure whether she will really like her if she finds out what her work is.

Speaking of her work, she only asked for a month's worth of leave and soon she will go back to work. She hates to go back and wished she could start the coffee shop business but she knows it is not easy.

She really liked the San Lorenzo Village location but Dominic Strauss hasn't gotten back to her yet, and Alejandro is jealous on top of it.

Maybe she should consider other locations then, she thought.

Then her phone rings, she looked at the phone and see who it was:

Mr. Strauss it says..."Paano nya? " and she remembered she used her mobile to call him and he must have saved her number then.

She sat up and answered the call,"Hello," she said.

"Hi Elena did I disturb you? " Dominic said.

"No not at all...any news?" she asked.

"Good and Bad, bad news is that they wouldn't want any establishment right near the village's entrance. And there really is no appropriate parking there and the traffic would be affected by it. The good news is that I know of a good location perfect for your coffee shop!" he said excitedly.

Elena grew excited too," Really? Saan naman? Oh sorry you don't speak tagalog right?" She asked.

"Sorry, no.But I can understand it, well I can show it you if you are interested.."he said.

"Huh...ahhmm, mag-a-out of town kasi ako this weekend eh, how about next week?" she said.

"Sure that's fine. Anyways just let me know when you're back in town. By the way, so Alejandro is your boyfriend?" he asks changing the subject.

Elena felt awkward discussing her personal life with someone especially to a stranger in Dominic Strauss.

Hesitatingly, she said," Yes, he is my boyfriend. "

"Great... I didn't know Velez has good taste until now. Well tell the lucky bastard I said hello again okay? Excuse the word hahaha I can't help it, I envy the man. If you were available I would've been asking you out on a date now Elena, good thing Alejandro got you. Anyways let me know if it doesn't work out I am free," he laughed and added," And I am not kidding, I will seriously ask you out if you are available," Elena didn't know what to say to him, before she can say anything else," So...I gotta go I have a plane to catch, see you soon I hope Elena, bye," as he ended the call.

"Bye.." she said, she felt her cheeks flushed by his boldness.

After Elena's phone call with Dominic Strauss, she writes an email to Alejandro.

To: Alejandro Velez

From: Elena Ruiz

Subject: Cafe Location

Hi Alejandro,

I just spoke to Mr. Strauss, the village didn't want the cafe near their entrance. But he said he has an alternate location to show me. Should I say okay, but if I were to see him- can you go with me? Alam ko naman how you feel ;-)

I'm packing now and Nanay said okay for me to go with you.

I will see you soon, nervous and excited at the same time.

She sent it through her iPad, and finished packing. She is only carrying a small carry on luggage. She was never been an airplane before so she is kinda afraid of that,too. Good thing she is going with Alejandro, she knows he will take care of her.

Alejandro is at the gym at his condo building when his phone beeped, an email.

Before he would think of it as maiden25, but now that he is over her- he thought it might be an email from Elena.

He was walking on the treadmill and his phone is right in front on the slot where an iPod should be. He lowered his pace and opened the message and reads it.

His brows creased together reading it, but felt a little better knowing she asked him to go with her if she wants to check out the location- he doesn't trust Strauss- he is known to be quite a charmer and get women to easily go to bed with him. He won't let him near Elena again without him by her side.

He decided he will call her after his exercise.
