The first thing the witch did, was compliment Madeline on how gorgeous she looked, and even made her do a twirl.

"Ooh, you're as gorgeous as ever!" She cooed, "And who is this? Ooh, isn't he gorgeous!" She looked to Klaus, "Move out of the way, Handsome, I've got to get a closer look at the baby!"

Madeline held her breath as the witch wiggled her large booty from side to side, as she sashayed forward. But she had nothing to worry about, for Ethel was not about to snatch Henry from her arms.

A bejewelled finger gently touched the baby's cheek, and the infant offered the witch a gummy grin as his large brown eyes looked up at her wrinkled face.

"What's the handsome buggers name?"

"Henry." Madeline replied, "Henry Andrew Mikaelson."

Ethel brought her arms into her chest and squeezed herself tightly, "He's gorgeous, I could just squeeze him! Now, come on; come, come. Come and try my new batch of cordial, I've added some more sugar this time - I don't want to toot my own horn - but I think I've got the mixture perfect, this time."

She entered her house and continued talking to the two as they took their usual seats on the porch chairs, "My favourite and most gorgeous couple are back, ooh, I am so excited!" She placed a tray on the table, which had a pitcher of cloudy liquid and three margarita glasses. "I've gone all professional with my presentation." She giggled, pouring out the cordial into the fancy, sugar-rimmed glasses, "I didn't use glasses in my college days, it was all about chugging it straight from the bottle! But I've managed to pick up a bit of class, since then." She looked to Madeline, "Whip your tit out then girl, don't leave the poor boy hungry."

"I see that your 'Class' needs a little more improvement." Klaus commented, as he picked up his margarita glass, and took a sip. "A bit too much sugar, Ethel."

"Don't tell me, you're sweet enough, eh?" She shot Klaus an unsuccessful wink. "Eh? Sweet enough, get it?"

"We get it." Madeline supplied, "And I don't think decapitating people for fun counts as being sweet."

"You're the one with murderous tendencies at the moment, sweetheart, let's not forget that."

"Ooh, I do enjoy a good lovers quarrel!" Ethel clapped her hands together in excitement. "So, did you come by just to see little ole me?"

"The Hybrid says he has another question." Madeline stated with a roll of her eyes, "I think it's an excuse to try your elderflower juice."

"Cordial, gorgeous. Elderflower cordial." Ethel corrected the brunette. "Well then, ask away Mr Gorgeous!"

"Madeline died-"

"-Oh, to the holy heavens above!" Ethel threw herself back in her chair. "Breaks your heart doesn't it? So, how did you live, Mrs Gorgeous?"

"What do you mean, 'how did I live'?" Madeline asked, "That's why we're here, I think. Does it not have something to do with this Promised One bond-thing?"

"No."

"No?" Madeline looked at the ring on her thumb, "So, it was the Gilbert ring that brought me back! Thanks, Elijah."

"Does our bond weaken through death?" Klaus asked, "I haven't felt any changes, but what if Madeline were to come back as a vampire? We did think it a possibility, seeing as she died with my brothers blood in her system."

"I don't know." Ethel replied honestly, "As I said before, it's usually wolves that have mates, not vampires. But I suppose, once you've found your soulmate you've got them for life."

"What about after life." Madeline said, "If I did come back as a vampire, would we still be bonded?"

Ethel scratched the back of her neck in confusion, "I find myself stumped." She said, "I've not been this way since my college days when it was a question of 'who's the father'. That of course, was an alcohol induced issue. I had a boyfriend at the time I met my Promised One. I wasn't sure who the father was...turns out it was the other guys - whoops! But of course, I slept with my boyfriend before we went to the club, and I met my husband at the club! It was a wild birthday."

"So, you don't know?"

"Oh, Thomas was the father, definitely. He was ginger."

"I meant, about the bond ending if I died."

"Oh, no." Ethel said, sipping at her cordial. "Definitely too much sugar in this. Anyway, I don't think it would change things. I mean, once you find your mate; you're usually mates for life, I suppose. And if you died, gorgeous, and handsome here can still feel your emotions and find you if you're in trouble, then I would expect it would be the same if you died and came back changed. Sorry, Prince Charming, you and I cannot be together."

Madeline tried the cordial, and her eyes lit up in delight, "Oh my god, this is actually really delicious."

"She's obviously not sweet enough." Ethel murmured to Klaus.

"She has her moments." The Hybrid replied, with a knowing grin.

"Ooh, sweet and spicy! I was like that, back in my college days. The boys couldn't get enough of me!" Ethel giggled, "Have you had to fight anyone off, handsome?"

"Oh, if you count ripping her ex-boyfriends heart out." Klaus said, "Then there was the best man at her friends wedding, Madeline was Maid of Honour."

"Yes, I can remember my Promised One being best man." Ethel sighed, "I tore the Maid of Honours hair extensions out."

"I'm currently plotting on which way is going to be more satisfying, when I kill the best friend."

"Leave Damon alone!" Madeline scolded the Hybrid, before she turned her attention to baby Henry when he began to get a little bit restless.

"Ooh, worried she'll stray, Mr Gorgeous?" Ethel teased, "I can see that she only has eyes for you, not to worry."

"I keep saying that I'm not interested in tall, dark and mysterious."

"Just blonde, evil and murderous?" Klaus suggested with a charming grin.

"You read my mind, handsome." Madeline smiled, a blush on her face.

"Oh, you two obviously need to have some alone time. I can smell the sexual sexiness in the air; I have the nose of a bloodhound for this kind of thing."

"From your time at college?" Madeline asked.

"I didn't realise I was such an open book, gorgeous!" Ethel cackled, then stood up and shooed them, "Get off my porch and book yourselves into the next motel, it'll be good for you!"
