Madeline had convinced Elena to go to the bonfire party with Bonnie and Caroline. The older Gilbert sibling had heard all about it from Caroline, during cheerleading practice. While Elena reluctantly agreed to go (Bonnie convincing the brunette that Stefan was going to be there) and Jeremy was out gallivanting doing god knows what with god knows who, Jenna and Madeline had some time to themselves.

"How have you been?" Jenna asked.

"Alright." Madeline replied, "I haven't been cutting myself, if that's what you're really asking."

Jenna had found out about Madeline's self-harming when she had found her covered in blood, passed out on the bathroom floor. Elena and Jeremy had been asleep, so luckily, they didn't know about what had happened. Their Aunt had taken their older sister to the hospital, and Madeline had to have several stitches. It had frightened both women, and although Madeline hadn't meant to cut that deep it made her promise not to do it again.

"They're still healing."

Jenna nodded, "And have you been eating?"

Madeline pretended not to hear, and flicked over the television channel. "Have you seen this?" She gestured towards the news that was reporting the animal attacks. "Has your boyfriend told you anything about it?"

"Logan isn't my boyfriend." Jenna snapped, defensively. "And don't try to change the subject!"

"No, I haven't been eating." Madeline replied, gritting her teeth. "I've not been hungry."

"Well, don't you think you should? I mean, your job uses a lot of energy, you don't want to pass out again-"

"-I'm fine." Madeline rolled her eyes, "Stop hounding me about it. You sound just like mum and dad, they were always nagging me about my weight."

"You've lost a lot more since they've been gone. There's barely anything of you left."

"What I do is none of your business."

"Is is when you're starving yourself to death!" The blonde snapped, "I've found this nutrition diet that can-"

"-I don't need any help, Jenna!" Madeline snapped, "I'm sick of you trying to stick your nose into my business! I'm not talking about this, anymore. Can't you just give me a break?"

Jenna sighed, "I'm just worried about you, that's all."

"I know." Madeline replied, her anger depleting. "But I'm fine, I promise. Look, I'll even eat those leftover noodles in the fridge, if it'll prove it to you?"

The brunette rid herself of the noodles not even ten minutes later. She pushed herself back onto her feet and flushed the toilet before rinsing out her mouth and washing her hands.

As she came out of the bathroom, her attention became fixated on the 'Breaking News'. There had been an animal attack at the bonfire, and the first thought that ran through her mind, was the fact that Elena was there.

She didn't even need to tell Jenna where she was going, as she grabbed her car keys.

The roads were blocked by flashing blue lights from both ambulances and police cars, and Madeline stepped out of her old car to join the parents and other Mystic Falls civilians. It was understandable that they were worried about their kids; there was not yet any revelation as to the identity of the person who had been attacked!

"Elena!" Madeline shouted once she saw her sister. They ran over to one another, and Madeline put her arm around Bonnie too. "Are you girls alright?" She asked frantically, to which they both nodded.
