Madeline and Klaus spent the next few days in bed. Now that all the current danger had passed, and Henry was once again safe - they decided to spend some much needed alone time with one another.

Kol and Davina had gone away to Paris, and both Rebekah and Marcel had left to spend some time in New York. Elijah and Freya had gone with them for about ten days, but soon returned and were left to keep an eye on things in the Quarter. Klaus had decided to entrust his kingdom to his two siblings for the time being.

"Have you ever slept with Damon Salvatore?" The Hybrid asked Madeline, as they lay tangled in the sheets, spent.

Madeline scoffed, "Do you think he'd still be my best friend if I had?"

"Just answer, 'yes' or 'no', sweetheart."

"No." She said, "I never slept with Damon. I mean, there was one night I thought that I had. It was before we were friends, actually, and before I even knew about the supernatural. I woke up in his bed; I was so drunk I passed out, and he hadn't been invited into my house so he took me to his. It was when I was anorexic and bulimic. He insisted on making me breakfast. Stefan was surprised at how nice Damon was being - probably thinking he had an ulterior motive - but he didn't. I think he was going to use me to get to Elena, and then decided he felt sorry for me and took me under his wing. Much like Katherine, actually."

"I didn't know that your friendship began that long ago."

Madeline scoffed, "Damon likes to think that he's a bad boy, but he's not. It was all a front he put up to protect himself from getting hurt."

"Did he fancy you?"

"I don't know." She replied, "The first few times we met, he kept on trying to get me to go out with him. He even reversed his car into mine, to get my attention. But I said 'no'. If I had known he was a vampire, I probably would've said 'yes' because I was scared. But I think our friendship began because I was - as he said - 'ballsy'."

"Now, to me, he doesn't seem like the type to befriend a beautiful woman that shot him down."

"When I found out he was a vampire, I did think that he was going to kill me. But he said he respected me." She laughed, "To be honest, I didn't like him when we first met, and I liked him even less when I found out that he had killed a lot of people...but we became Sherlock and Watson: me being the brains, of course."

"Of course." Klaus agreed.

"So, no. I never slept with Damon. I never had any intention too, either." She said, "I've only ever slept with Sam, before you."

He raised an eyebrow, in surprise, "You've only had two lovers?"

She glared up at him, "You thought I was a slut?"

"A slut, no. But I believed you'd have been with more men, yes. You are enticingly captivating, after all." He wrapped his arms around her waist, "I now consider myself as very lucky."

She wasn't going to ask the 'how many lovers have you had' question, because there would be over one thousand years worth of women. She was jealous at the mere thought of Klaus bringing so much pleasure to someone other than her.

She played with the leather cords of his necklace, "Am I going to see your painting?" She asked, "You've been spending a lot of nights in your art room."

"I thought you were sleeping."

"I'm human, I wake up to pee." She replied, "And you're not here."

"You haven't peeked inside, have you?"

"No." She promised, "Although, I am tempted. Do you paint naked?"

Klaus laughed, "No, but I have done."

Henry's cries were heard to Madeline through the receiver she had beside the bed, and she sat up and grabbed Klaus' discarded shirt. After covering up her body, she padded barefoot into the nursery that was adjacent to their own room and picked up the infant.

"Good morning, my handsome boy!" She greeted him softly, placing a kiss to the top of his head. She soothed his cries as she carried him into the main bedroom - where Klaus had vamped downstairs to collect and warm up the bottle.

Madeline climbed back into bed beside Klaus, and the Hybrid took the little boy into his arms to feed him. The brunette watched the two, but quickly moved into the bathroom to take a shower once her broody feelings returned. Klaus had still said nothing on the matter, and it frustrated her.

Henry had finished his bottle by the time she had showered, and she walked into the room with a towel covering her wet body. Her long hair curled up inside a second towel made the infant laugh, and it brought a smile to both her and Klaus' faces.

"I'm taking you out today." Klaus said, "So, wear something nice."

"Where are we going?"

"You ask that question as if you expect me to answer, sweetheart."

"Well, I kind of need to know where so that I can dress accordingly." She pulled on a pair of kickers and a bra, before rifling through the drawers. "Will these do?" She asked, holding up a pair of jeans.

"No. Go to the wardrobe."

She did as she was told, and held up different garments to the fashion expert on the bed. Until Klaus told her to wear a red dress.

Madeline clipped her hair up at the sides, and offered the Hybrid a little twirl

Madeline clipped her hair up at the sides, and offered the Hybrid a little twirl. "So?"

"Perfect." He grinned, his dazzling smile sent her heart into a fluttering frenzy.

"So, where are we going?"

"I'm not telling you." He said, getting out of the bed and passing Henry over to her so that he could shower.

Madeline descended the staircase, and was greeted by Elijah and Freya in the living room. They smiled up at her, and complimented her on how pretty she looked...but Madeline was more focused on the knowing smiles on their faces.

"What?" She asked them, "Do you know where Klaus is taking me?"

"No." Freya lied, holding her arms out for her nephew.

"Don't bounce him around too much," Madeline warned as she passed him to his oldest Aunt. "He's just had a bottle."

Klaus joined them about ten minutes later, wearing a suit with no tie. In his hands, was a pair of black heels for the brunette to wear.

Madeline only frowned at him more, "Where are we going?" She asked, slipping them onto her feet. "It's not my birthday, is it?"

"No, my love." He replied with a smile, holding out his hand for her to take.

"Is Henry coming with us?"

"No, Elijah is looking after him, until Rebekah and Marcel get back from their trip."

"Have a lovely day." The Original vampire said, and Freya grinned over towards them. "Don't do anything I wouldn't do."

Klaus scoffed, "If we did that, life would be boring, brother!"
