''Thomas, Thomas, Thomas, Thomas!'' I sang, jumping up and down on the bed.
''Shut up!'' he said, throwing a pillow at me.
''Thomas is unhappy! Thomas is grumpy! Wake-up, baby!'' I sang.
''No. Go away, Derek.''
''Love me!'' I said, letting my body fall onto his.
''Jesus!'' he said.
''No, I'm only Derek.''
''Get off me, now.''
''Ok, but I'm kissing your cheek first!''
I pressed my lips on his cheek and he winced. ''We're Saturday morning and we got not training today, let me sleep.'' he mumbled.
''No! I want to go to the park!''
''You don't even like the park.''
''Please...'' I pouted.
''Derek.''
''Please, Thomas-dear!''
''No.''
''You're so mean!'' I said, rolling down to my side of the bed. Yup, we were at that part in the bromance were we had 'our sides of the bed'. I was on the left side, next to the wall. I looked at the grey wall and sighted. I wasn't mad, but just disappointed. I knew it wasn't a good idea to wake him up, but I did it anyway. As was about to get lost in my thoughts, I felt arms wrapping up around me and a head on my shoulder. I smirked and closed my eyes.
''Forgive me.'' he said.
''No, no, it was stupid to wake you up.''
''Yeah, it was.''
''Why don't you want to go to the park?'' I asked.
''First, I wanna stay in bed. Second, it's pouring outside.''
''Really? How do you know?''
''Can't you hear the rain falling? It's almost hail.''
I listened the the sound. True. It was raining-almost-hailing. I sighted. ''Ok, then. Let's stay here.'' Thomas's arms got tighter around my body. We had an amazing bromance. A huge bromance.
When I came out, it was on the 12th of December. I was so nervous. On the morning I came and told my parents. Mom told me that she already knew it. Dad smiled and said to me ''I'm proud of you, Derek. It took a lot of courage and I'll be happy to support you.'' Later on, pacing around my bedroom, I waited for Thomas. When he walked him, I closed the door and looked at him in the eyes. I think I'll always remember what I told him. ''Thomas, I'm aware that this could be the end of our friendship, but I'm telling you anyway.'' I took a deep breathe. ''I... Thomas, I'm gay.'' I said. I felt arms, wrapping around my body. Thomas hugged me. That's what happened.
''Derek?'' a voice said, snapping me back to reality.
''Yes?''
''Do I annoy you?'' he mutter.
''Only when you're overprotective.'' I said.
''I know... but do I annoy you when I hug you?''
''Never.'' I smirked.
''I really like it. You know, just cuddling on a Saturday morning.''
''Me too.'' I chuckled. ''We're so gay.''
''I know.'' he snorted, resting his head in the crook of my neck.
''There you are!'' a voice said. I recognized my mother. ''Are you gonna eat breakfast?''
''No, mother, we're cuddling.'' I said.
''Free hugs!'' someone screamed. The someone jumped on us. Penelope. Mom chuckled and left.
''Penelope, my dear little sister, go away.'' I said.
''But I wanna cuddle too.''
''I know, I know, but Thomas-dear and I are having a moment right now.''
''Aw... ok. I'll let you two kiss.''
''Penelope!'' Thomas frowned.
''Thomas and Derek sitting in a tree! K-''
''Penelope!'' mom warned from the bottom of the stairs.
''Yes, mommy?''
''Stop annoying your brother.''
''Ok, mommy.'' she got down from the bed and walked to my mother. I laughed. Such an adorable piece of cuteness.
''How's it going with the Eichelberger kid?'' Thomas asked.
''Great, great. He has to write a poem in French. Which is going to be hard since he's horrible.''
''Yeah, but I mean... is he being mean to you?''
I had to lie. ''Nope. He's nice.''
''You're sure?'' he asked.
''Thomas, since when do I lie?'' Since 10 seconds ago, Derek.
''I know, but... you know I really care about you.''
''Yes, yes I know.'' cuddling was great, but I needed to move. I thought of diffrent things Thomas and I could do. I smiled and faced my best friend. ''I know what we could do!'' I said.
''What?''
''Rainbow cake!''
''Urg, Derek, it's gonna take forever.''
''Please...'' I pouted, pressing my nose on his.
''No.''
''Thomas, you're such a grumpy person, how can you even be happy in life?'' I asked. ''And don't say I'm the one making you happy because I already know it. I'm such a fabulous kid.''
''Derek Taylor, we are NOT making a rainbow cake.''
''Well I am.'' I said getting out of bed. ''My outrageous personality and I will be in the kitchen if you're looking for us.''
''Can I keep Derek? The personality can make the rainbow cake alone.''
''Nope. I'm married to my personality.''
I always referred my personality and me as two different things. There was me, the human being, and the personality. I could be really fabulous and hyper, but if I was mad, beware... It's ok if you don't understand my logic, you don't have to. Nobody can be fabulous. Who am I kidding! If you're still following my story, it's because you're fab.
I got up and took Thomas's laptop. I browsed through the web to find a recipe. Once I found it, I got down to the kitchen. I loved cooking but hated waiting. This was going to be interesting. I took out all the stuff I needed and started baking. Mom came and asked me what I was doing. I told her that I was making a cake. Which she replied ''Be careful and don't burn down the house.'' I giggled and got back to what I was doing. I heard a long sight and arms wrapping around my waist.
''Thomas-dear, if you wanna be helpful, please give me the milk.'' I said, rolling my eyes.
''I hate cooking.''
''If you don't help me, you won't get any.''
''Good, I didn't want to eat it anyway.'' he said.
I sighted and turned around to face him. I placed my hands on his sides. ''Thomas, you are not over weighted.'' I said, looking at him in the eyes.
''I know, but I don't want gain weight.''
''Will you stop with that!'' Thomas was always that way. He cared too much about his weight. The truth was, he didn't needed to. He was so skinny. I never understood why he was acting like that. Since we're kids, he hates eating junk food. I had to force him every time.
