At the Avengers Tower, Happy stood next to a computer tech as the two of them watched on GPS that the flight course was going in the right direction. "Good, so it's on its way?" Happy asked.
"Yes, sir, right on course."
"Okay, thank you," Happy said before the tech took the laptop and left Happy in the almost empty room.
Up in the sky, Spider-Man continued to struggle with opening the wingsuit, needing to get to Emma before Vulture finds her.
———
Inside the plane, Vulture turned to walk out of the cockpit, and at his slight movement, Emma quickly slid over to the side, hiding behind the wall so he wouldn't see her. And he didn't.
As he faced all the boxes of Avenger techs, he took off his mask, a smile plaguing him. "Hot dog," he said.
Emma rolled her eyes.
As she watched from a careful distance, Toomes opened one box after another. Rows and rows of Avenger weapons and tech, all of which Emma recognized.
There were Chitauri guns. Arc reactors. SHIELD weapons. Everything you could think of.
In one of the boxes, Toomes took out an Iron Man mask, glared at it bitterly before tossing it to the side. But Emma? She watched her father's helmet drop to the ground in angst.
"I love you, 3000, Emma."
"Oh, Emma. I will not let anything happen to you, okay?"
"No need for attitude, you nine-year-old!"
"Do not step off that step! There's glass everywhere, sweetie."
"Moment over. Let's...go."
"Emma, behind me, now."
"I'm sorry I scared you, baby."
"You are suppose to be in your room, young lady. I threatened a terrorist for crying out loud. Up to your room. And wear your glasses!"
"Don't do anything I wouldn't do!"
"You're not an Avenger."
"Emma... your watch..."
"It won't be forever. Just for now. Just until I know I won't put you in danger."
"I don't care anymore... keeping you a secret has only made everything worse."
"What happened to no secrets?"
"Who's that? Him, right there. Who's that?"
"Hey! You gotta say I love you back."
Emma placed heavy eyes back on Toomes as he continued to go through the boxes, throwing invaluable things to the side. Like they were nothing.
———
Meanwhile, outside the plane, Spider-Man kicked Vulture's wingsuit, upon multiple times until it was pushed a bit to the side. Which caused the air pressure inside the cabin to drop, activating the alarm.
———
Quickly, Toomes spun around, and Emma hid behind some boxes. She watched as he ran to the cockpit, checking an external monitor where Spider-Man was shown, hanging onto the plane. He stared in shock before an irritated shout left his mouth. He spun around to leave, only to stop in his place when he found Emma standing at the cockpit entrance.
