It's been about a week since Billy left for Indiana. What a shame. I was beginning to like him.
For whatever reason, I felt lonely again, as if I was in the wasteland in the future.
Stacy, who I for some reason told about my powers was constantly asking me to jump a couple days into the future to see what it looked like for her. I never did because I didn't want to get stuck in the wasteland.
Now that Billy was gone, I figured it wouldn't hurt to try new things. It wasn't like my goal was to jump to a completely different era.
This time, Stacy asked me to see if she scored a date with the cute dude who works at the hot dog stand.
When I finally agreed to do it for her, she squealed of joy. I sat and started counting down like I did so long ago. I pictured myself a week from today. I couldn't help thinking of Billy. Why was my mind so clouded?
My eyes opened and nothing seemed familiar. Something was wrong. I didn't feel right. I closed my eyes again, and within a second I was somewhere else.
Now, every time I blinked, I was in a different place. I was scared. I didn't know what to do. I closed my eyes and tried to focus on California. When I opened my eyes, I saw nothing. Only darkness. Water was beneath my feet and I saw my reflection. But there was nothing else.
I tried screaming for help but I heard nothing.
————————————————————————Four years. I've been stuck in this endless void for what seems like eternity. I grew tired of calling for help or trying to get myself out of this mess. I have no idea what what went wrong so long ago, but I was certain that my power was unstable.
I felt this really weird feeling in my stomach. Like I wasn't alone anymore. What was this?
Then, I saw her. A girl who was a few years younger than me. She had curly brown hair and a bold outfit choice. We looked at each other and started breathing heavily. Then I saw the mark on her left wrist. Eleven. She was like me.
"Who are you?" I asked.
"Are you... Can you..? Can you travel through time?" She asked softly.
"How are you here?" I replied.
"Listen. I need you to go to 1986."
"I.. I can't! I can't do it!"
"I believe in you. I believe you can. You have to go to 1986 in Hawkins, Indiana and find Mike. Mike, Max, Dustin, Nancy, Lucas, Please! I need you, sister."
"Sister? How is this happening? I can't travel! How are you here?"
She began to disappear. "Please" she whispered before vanishing completely.
It must've been my mind playing tricks on me. But she had a tattoo like me.
1986. 1986. 1986. I can do this.
I opened my eyes finally and I could see light. I broke down crying. How after all this time was I able to escape? I ran out of the empty lab room that I knew so well. My eyes were adjusting to the light that was absent from my life for four years
I ran into the road and a car stopped for me. "What year is it?" I yelled to the confused woman, still squinting.
"It's uh it's 1986." She said. Once again, I did it. This was the last jump I will ever make. Forever.
"Can you take me to Mike, Lucas, Dustin, Max and Nancy?" I asked.
"Honey I have no idea who these people are. Where are your parents?"
