"WHAT?!?" He screamed. "You've got to be joking." He replied.
"I'm not kidding, Billy. I don't know how I did it but I somehow managed to bring us to the twenties."
"Well then bring us back!"
"That was a sixty year jump! I don't know if I can! Besides, I don't know if you're safe for the kids."
"What? Why wouldn't I be safe for the kids?"
"Because you almost killed Lucas!"
"I did?!"
"You don't remember?" I asked. He shook his head. "How are you feeling?" I asked.
"I feel fine I guess." He replied.
"You're not overheating?"
"No." He said. I thought for a moment.
"Maybe when we jumped, the creature didn't tag along with you. Maybe it's impossible for them."
"Huh. Well a lot of impossible things are happening today. Now that we established that I'm normal, can you please take this stupid cuffs off?" He demanded.
"How do I know if I can trust you?" I questioned.
"Nicole," he scoffed while giving a dashing smile. "Do I look like a child killer to you?"
I stared at him for a moment, eyeing him up and down. "Hmmmm..... yes." I said.
"Seriously?" He said unamused.
"Tell me something only non possessed Billy Hargrove would know."
"Okay... When we were teenagers, we lived in California. You worked at a diner and you love stargazing."
I hesitated and thought for a moment before deciding. "Okay fine I believe you." I said while undoing his cuffs."
"Thank you." He sighed while rubbing his wrists. "So what's the plan?"
"Well I'm obviously going to try and jump us back but I have a feeling we might have to stay here for a couple of days."
Billy began to slow clap."You really screwed up this time, didn't you, Nikki. Congratulations."
"Are you serious right now, Billy? I screwed up? You almost killed a kid! And guess who stopped that? Me! Nikki did!" I lashed out.
"Woah woah woah, calm down." He said as I sat on the ground and hugged my legs, begging to cry out of stress. "Hey," he said crouching down with me. "It's no big deal, really. Don't worry about it. You're freaking awesome and the twenties are wicked, so how about we enjoy this once in a lifetime opportunity that you have granted us." He said softly trying to coax me.
"You're an asshole, Billy." I said, still crunched up with my head down.
"I know. I hear that a lot."
"Good. You're a real piece of shit, you know that?"
"Yup." He sighed. I looked up to see him looking at me. I sighed and stood up.
"Let's get out of these clothes," I said. He gave me a look. I rolled my eyes. "Not what I meant."
We started walking towards the town. "So... are we going to talk about it?" Billy asked.
"Talk about what?"
"You know... what happened last night... er sixty years in the future..."
"What's there to talk about?" I questioned, unsure of where this was going.
